Here's some comments by Jason Ward, Exploration Manger in the annual report $SOLG.L $SOLG $CGP #ecuador

"...came up with over 100 areas in Ecuador. Of these we currently hold 72 and are awaiting granting of some others.

In our first year we have identified ten high priority targets and already we have identified drill targets at five of these and applied for permits.

We will make further discoveries in Ecuador.”

Love the CEO Q&A section in the annual report $SOLG.L $SOLG $CGP #ecuador

Q: Does the arrival of BHP into the register concern you?
A: No, they’re very welcome. We are obviously happy to have Alpala,
Ecuador, the copper market and our management team endorsed by BHP buying 6%. I’m assuming that’s just for starters.

Q: How do you respond to those who say SolGold is too small to fund a project the size of Cascabel, let alone your significant portfolio across Ecuador?
A: High copper and gold grades at Alpala deliver independence.

Q: SolGold is in a very unique position in the market, do you view this as a challenge or opportunity?
A: Independence is the challenge. Diversity is the opportunity. Our unique position is both a challenge and an opportunity. Our challenge is to provide the necessary funding to see Aplala progress toward development and the opportunity is to create an integrated pipeline of exploration, development and mining projects largely 100% owned under the SolGold roof. This will present SolGold’s shareholders with a unique opportunity to take part in ownership of one of the world’s largest emerging copper gold porphyry explorers, developers and miners.

Sounds good to me

With a significant update on the maiden resource expected in Q4 2018, an independent Preliminary Economic Assessment set for release in Q1 2019, and the ongoing development of our 10 priority regional projects, the next year is set to be exciting for SolGold and its stakeholders."

Couple of tweets from Willem Middelkoop of Commodities Discovery Fund (long Solgold) following recent Full Year Report RNS $SOLG.L $SOLG $CGP #ecuador

"...Hole 64 might turn out to be the game changer for #SolGold (the core of the system?, very high grade, step out, BHP, getting very very interesting)"

"..Watch out for HOLE 64 (assays pending). New high grade core discovered in a wide step out (NW-Trivino area), reaching depth of over 2000m now. Could grow this copper-gold discovery in a monster (Grasberg/Pebble size min. 25m oz/au, 50mt/cu)"

Patience jerry. Releasing the value embedded in a mining stock of this nature takes time and confidence of evidence. BHP's arrival on the scene suggests we're not far from value release though these things take time, months.

More drilling, drilling and more drilling helps to build up the evidence to confirm Mather's assertions and verify his confident statements. BHP knows what SOLG's found in Ecuador and they're desperate. When they do make their move this may flush out other buyers (Rio, Anglo-A, Vale, Sumitomo or the Chinese?) - a bun fight would be most welcome

The figure that caught my eye was the '20% of the world's copper resource' '...that's a pretty eye catching statement to make from Mather

It was a very bullish presentation (far more so than Fridays) but these and the stock exchange releases don't seem to be having the effect that he expects. I accept that share price is up a lot this month, but he clearly thinks it should be more. He seems to have PI support and acceptance by the industry that he is on to something (2 s/holders and others have come in to the region). That only really leaves the instos. So why are they not fans? Is it (and I have no idea) because they only have a standard listing? Has London lost its reputation for supporting embryonic mining stocks?
If someone is connected with any potential insto, we would love to hear why they aren't playing.

Pob69 - thanks for the link and concise summary. A very positive presentation again and aimed in part at least at big players. 2 other quotes to add -

'£644m market cap is terrifyingly small'
'company still undervalued' - mentioned as part of the summary at end.
Looking forward to more resource updates.

Here's the Denver Explorer & Developer Forum presentation by Nick Mather CEO $SOLG $CGP #cascabel #ecaudor

Restates confidence in doubling of MRE expected in November.
"...Production operations in future projects funded internally" (by bootstrapping)
"...Not too many opportunities to get into new Solgold equity"
"...4 year jump on rest of industry and we have the 10 best"
"...Ecaudor is our oyster and we epect to find lots of pearls"
"...BHP transaction with no due diligence"
"...PEA work being done currently to budget and schedule"
"...Hole 64 is high grade and my mind boggles as to what might be there" (is this the root of the the core?)
"...very interested in Blanca which has artisinal miners all over it and it is very handy in helping the development of Alpala" (check out the nugget!)
"...company still undervalued in bulding one of the world's great copper majors"

As Mirabeau says it is compliance related. It is probably good news in that the Stock Exchange have audited SOLG and these are the only minor changes they wanted revised.

Hi Jerry,

The slides give much of the additional information. On page 25 the pic of the core from hole 64 is from 2138m depth and the slide is titled bornite leads to high grade concentrate and high gold content. The >1.5% resource plan on page 21 gives the location and the extent shown of over 150m around the hole indicates a significant length of intersection at over 1.5% cutoff.
From the 20th August RNS hole 64 is the one into Trivinio. Hole 49 slid over the top of the high grade at 890 to 1010m down hole with 1.57% Cu equiv. Told them where to drill hole 64. This time they hit the jackpot and even before analysis they are putting it in their resource plan at over 1.5% Cu equiv so the grades must be spectacular.
