I was just thinking the same francois.

But whatever happens to the gold price....and it is still considered very high....this company's assets will have a certain value. It is for the individual to decide what that is, given the facts and using even intelligent guesses.
Of course even then they could be wrong, such is the nature of share selection!

Old red plays both sides of the trade and the fact he is acknowledging a drop tells me he has offloaded a bundle and looking for a cheaper buy in.
He will no doubt tell the world of his next huge buy.....

francois, a Tier 1 asset at the current state of development and in a friendly jurisdiction would traditionally be considered to have a starting value around $1bn i.e. £800m. In a metals bull market, more might be expected.

On the plus side of the ledger, you have a fully explored mine with decent nearby infrastructure and a supportive local community. Together with the strong metals market, that might point to a value in excess of £1bn. Add on a value for Porvenir and SOLG starts to look like a very undervalued proposition.

On the negative side of the ledger, you have an unstable political regime. You also have various NSR deals including up to 8% with the Ecuador government, 1% with FNV, 0.6% with the Chinese and a voidable (for $4m) 2% with the original explorers. These NSR deals will reduce the value by at least 20% and probably more. You then have the unresolved potential liability to explore all the other licenses. Taking all these factors into account, the potential value needs to be discounted by over 30%. It still leaves at least £700m of potential value and possibly more.

The next big question is whether shareholders can benefit from this undervaluation or will there be further dilution? It is clear that further funds need to be raised and so a discount has to be applied for this. IMV, it still leaves at least £600m of value, providing a bid is made before further dilution or NSR deals.

It would not surprise me if potential bidders could see value up to £1bn but it would also not surprise me if an initial bid was made around £400m. For current shareholders, the risk is a bid does not arrive or the political situation shifts. Given these risks, it does not appear to me unreasonable for SOLG to be currently valued at less than £300m.

One thing I would have bet my life on today. We weren’t going up 5% to take us over 10p - no matter if Copper & Gold had gone through the roof. It wasn’t happening in a month of Sundays.

The markets are corrupt. Simple as.

Let’s hope Caldwell can show us a decent piece of news eg Treasury shares sold at a big premium or a bid in the offing. Need to start to put some meat in the bones of his plans. Talks cheap now. Need action from him.

Caldwell needs to start delivering. He has steadied the ship but needs some big news soon to take us to the next step.

Was reading through some news from 7 months ago and came across his share buys in OCT 23. Basically we are slightly down on his buys from then, so he has not increased share holder value in that time. Needs to deliver some juicy RNS’s in the coming weeks.

Restoring law and order is a number one priory for Ecuador which will massively aid investment in the country.

We could do with a few referendums here on knife crime laws and the death penalty. We are a bit too woke In this country for that I fear.
