Posted at 26/3/2024 10:17 by seanyboy I iz luvin SCT - once market regains full confidence this stock will fly |
Posted at 05/5/2023 17:38 by systemsthinker Seanyboy - I'd never give advice(!) but I bought Softcat at the start of February.I'm not concerned about exec/director sales of shares unless backed up by other more dubious factors, and I can't find any. It just seems to be a slightly unexciting but profitable company with a pretty good outlook, so is what I was looking for as a longer term investment. Dividend yield is also forecast to rise. In my previous job in IT, I also dealt with them on a business level and I was quite impressed. That was a few years ago, but they still seem to be doing OK... |

Posted at 25/10/2022 12:52 by essentialinvestor Dave, looking at FY '23 and '24 consensus there does not appear to be much growth forecast - may be adjusted following today.UK about to take a significant macro hit but SCT market arguably more resilient. Previous multiples were in a ZIRP environment and easier to justify, post ZIRP leading to multiple compression across the market. On a very quick first look this seems fairly valued with so much else getting cheaper, however the record is strong, no debt ..etc. |
Posted at 25/10/2022 11:02 by shareholder7 What people don't realise is this company is a trader and has a unique sales model by recruiting graduates and paying them on Gross profit. That ensures a very competent work force and Softcats competition don't do this. So it's a sales model that makes them different Everyone will need office and essential software so sales will continue on the up The more people they hire the more margin they make that's why employee numbers are key Great share to put away, take the dividend and wait for it to hit new highs as it will |
Posted at 14/10/2022 16:42 by disc0dave45 Agree, do think their update will be positive and the share price will reflect that but macro and out of favour tech will drag it back down.I've been watching a cloud computing etf (WCLD) and SCT has followed the same decline (although the etf has dropped a lot more from its 52w high). May go for the etf rather than SCT at some point, will see.Should have sold up a lot sooner but hindsight and all that. |
Posted at 07/3/2022 12:42 by km18 ...from last year...Softcat published FY21 final results today confirming another year of strong organic growth, profitability and cash generation. Revenues were up 7.4% to £1,156.7m, operating profit up 27.4% to £119.4m, basic EPS up 26.7% to 48.4p. A final dividend of 14.4p plus a special dividend of 20.5p was paid. The company’s strong balance sheet position was maintained with net cash at year end of £101.7m (2020: £80.1m). So more overall solid performance despite the ongoing Pandemic. Valuation wise the company is not cheap, forward PE ratio of 42 is 3rd quartile for the Software & IT Services sector, PS ratio is a little better at 3.5 and top half for the sector. But tech names rarely trade cheaply. Growth has been solid, share price pullbacks minor over the past 5 years. SCT is one to BUY and hold.... ...from WealthOracleAM |
