16/5/2013 20:04 | Now where's that bloody needle gone Elsie? | n3tleylucas
15/5/2013 15:35 | I have lightened up on these today. No concerns about the company or its future prospects, it's just that they have done very well for me and I am now massively overweight on them. Other fish to fry. | ![]() lord gnome
15/5/2013 14:44 | Interesting that yesterday the CEO of the Smiths News division finally sold out his entire holding after a number of sales over the last month or so. It might well be nothing to do with current trading of course. Given the increasing debt I have followed him. | deucetoace
30/4/2013 06:09 | There are probably botty games happening all over ADVFN net, although I believe jane was plugged and abandoned many years ago.... | jack ladd

21/4/2013 16:27 | Jane that's very flattering of you but as usual you are stupidly mistaken. That photo is of Jimmy Dorsey, one of the greatest musicians of the jazz age but thanks for the compliment, I really am rather flattered! As you can see he used vaseline in his hair to keep it nice & shiny. Unfortunately we all know what you use vaseline for you greasy bottomed troll :) | jack ladd
21/4/2013 14:29 | Thats got to be u jack now we all know why you need the Vaseline | ![]() janekane
20/4/2013 15:48 | Well I have taken SOME money off the table too - it has more than doubled since I bought a decent chunk, so I was becoming overweight more than ws justifiable to me. It is normal. But still hold just as much (a bit more in fact) cash-wise than initially. My estimation of our prospects has also improved quite a bit since I bought. £2 should be a staging post imo... | ![]() edmundshaw
20/4/2013 10:13 | the point is that the large holder is selling. read the announcements over the lat year or so. Silchester have been selling consistently into this price rise. The interesting thing will be when they have stopped selling - supply of stock reduces - price goes up. this is still good value don't forget, so plenty of scope for further increases in the long run - but after such a superb year, it is hardly surprising some take their money off the table. | ![]() markie7
19/4/2013 19:10 | Markie7--your post 673. Can youexplain the point? I would have thoughta large holder would give the mmarket confidence. I an imagine the ruisks if there were no large holders. I got in here at 78p and have been running a 20% triling stop-loss, which has not been tiggered.Happiness is! | ![]() bscuit

18/4/2013 13:21 | I think he is overlooking the quality of a management that has turned a dying duck into a dynamic, carefully acquisitive growth compnay with some very good new markets that should make good returns due to excellent re-use of the distribution network. Actually, this is one management I would like to meet... | ![]() edmundshaw
18/4/2013 10:57 | Mid-year figures for Smiths News revealed a company which is making progress across all its divisions and is on target for one of its main strategic goals. That is reducing the share of its staid newspapers and magazine wholesaling unit's contribution to profits to half by 2016, from 73 per cent at present. The stock now sells on a more reasonable multiple of nine times' earnings. Interesting, but further progress may be limited, Tempus in The Times writes (Last IC rating: Hold, 17 Apr). | ![]() lord gnome
18/4/2013 10:23 | Overweight to make astimated loss? Why do they say these things? | ![]() edmundshaw
