- Medical technology company Smith & Nephew said it had agreed to acquire Switzerland-based provider of optical tracking technology Atracsys Sarl, for an undisclosed sum.

Atracsys Sarl's technology was used in computer-assisted surgery and its optical tracking camera would assist Smith & Nephew's digital surgery and robotic ecosystem, the company said.

The acquisition was expected to complete during the third quarter of 2019.

Seems to be good support at 1400. A buy between 1400 - 1450 seems like good value at the moment. Looking at releasing some other stock to top up my holding here.

All speculation on my part.. if a deal is confirmed along the lines outlined
in the FT, I would expect SN to briefly dip Below 14.

Gearing up the balance sheet also makes SN. Less attractive as a potential
acquisition target, so that also has to be factored in.

Medium to longer term the share price would then depend on whether measures to reignite
growth are successful, or not.

The recent modest FY dividend rise may also indicate an acquisition is around the corner.

Had a read of the conference call transcript, where the CEO makes it crystal
clear they are assessing potential acquisitions. Does not necessarily mean the FT
story is accurate, however would not rule it out.

Jack, how would that be funded.

It could not be all debt surely?.

With the 500 USD net debt, it would leave SN. With 4 billion of net debt, very approx.

If the acquisition reports this morning are accurate, SN. may be available
lower down, as the price mentioned looks on the steep side. Just imv only.
