well believe it or not but the 15k I lost on the way up has been nearly recovered on the way down

I am absolutely short till 25p now

Sold ATCG today on the back of their debt mountain and gushing optimism....no more companies built on sand for me...learnt a big lesson today.

I was not in this share and I am sorry for those who were......I was about to post something like that when I read the above post. I could hardly call holders 'stupid' though, being so close to buying in myself on several occasions. Very close in fact!

I had SMC on my watchlist and followed daily, fully expecting to be in at some point this year. This has certainly given me a wake up call and will influence the way I invest/trade from this day on.

I hope all those who have lost here are still able to remain 'in the game'. Horrible though events such as these are, those who survive them usually go on to become better investors.

I just cannot believe that a company in this sector can get it so wrong.Agree Quotes that they are a sorry bunch and that they wont be getting wrecked to forget today on beer and wine like many on this thread will be tonight...the champagne will always flow for these guys.

I have pasted RNS again 1. The word may is used? When findings are known they will notify the Market. I was in on last drop and made money buying in low.

Trading Update

SMC Group Plc provides the following interim trading update ahead of a board
meeting to be held on Wednesday 30 May 2007.

Following his appointment three months ago, Executive Chairman Sir Rodney Walker
has received initial findings from a review into the recent financial
underperformance of the Group carried out at his request. This review has
analysed operational processes across the Group including revenue forecasting,
pipeline of new business, efficiency of resourcing, integration and the cost
base of the Group. The Board believe that initial findings together with the
results of trading for the financial year to date may lead to a significantly
reduced profit expectation for the six months to June 2007.

This review has yet to be fully studied by the Board and this announcement is
being made in order to provide a preliminary update to the market. The review
will be analysed over the next few days and will be discussed at next
Wednesday's board meeting after which action is anticipated on the cost base and
operational structure of the Group.

The Executive Chairman is determined that such changes will enable the Group to
improve its financial performance to a level where month-by-month results are in
line with the Board's recent expectations.

The findings of the review and the actions taken by the Board in this regard
will be announced to the market as soon as possible.

or could this just be an over reaction by the market to news. 1860230 trades out of 46,067,000 in circulation. This share may go further down, but will be back to over 80p by August. Bought more today and will buy on further weakness. I like roller coasters.
