Nigeria Oil mining regs
'An oil mining lease – this licence allows full-scale commercial production in a lease area. It is granted to oil prospecting licence holders on the discovery of oil in commercial quantities (at least 10,000 barrels per day). It grants the lessee an exclusive right to prospect, explore, produce and undertake marketing activities in connection with the specified acreage for a period of 20 years. An oil mining lease may be renewed subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions.'


Probably the reason why they went for four well heads....so as to get them over the 10,000 barrel a day commercial quantity that qualifies them for the twenty year Licence.

The last three words are very important. Strong relations with the likes of Schlumberger, Chevron and various indigenous parties should ensure good insight across a wealth of Niger Delta shallow water opportunities, particularly those in close proximity or adjacent to well known producing fields, improving the likelihood of common structural traps and systems that may run in parallel.

Ororo has been drilled just once but isn’t far from the OML 95 Meren & Parabe fields, which have had over 130 wells drilled between them and been in production for circa 50 years.

‘...In line with our strategy we are continuing to appraise assets with production growth, appraisal and exploration potential.’

Producing or near producing assets should help underpin the overall project economics and provide a springboard to then also begin exploring any previously neglected, but potentially highly prospective targets.

A company with the substantial operational and financial backing of key partners is in a very strong position. An Afren mk2 in the making... but avoiding their obvious pitfalls.

Sp seems to have settled in high 80s. The big question now is will the BoD deliver on the latest rig promise or will it fade into dust like all the previous ones. Market is understandably wary.

it don't actually work like that bleemster, it all depends how many the MM's have at each level, 500,000 is the normal market size, but that doesn't mean they've only got 500K, it could be 5m or 50m, we don't know, and L2 is only indicative in any case.

Noted that Jarvis Inv Mgement dumped 50m shares in the July-Aug-Sept period. 0.9p. Nice work if they got shot and have since re-acquired them (and some more) at or around 0.6p.

I wonder if they knew about the Force farce? Hmm
