02/11/2003 23:08 | Anyone still watching this one? What do you reckon, breakout or plummet back? On reflection, that little "base camp" before the latest attempt on resistance level might suggest break-out, or a retest of that recent support before deciding direction. | zzaxx99

02/5/2003 08:28 | LONDON (AFX) - Shares in SIG moved higher after the supplier of insulation, roofing and commercial interiors products said trading so far this year has been positive. "Market conditions, which continue to be particularly difficult in Germany and in commercial interiors across the UK and Europe, are generally in line with our expectations," David Williams, chief executive, will be telling shareholders at the group's AGM later today, according to a statement. SIG shares were 3 pence higher at 235 by 7.53 am. | maywillow
23/4/2003 22:59 | Should have mentioned this earlier, the share price has bounced up a bit since, but was talking to a friend that works for an insulation selling business and he was very positive and claimed his sales were up 15%+ on last year. He reckoned that activity was pretty flat but sales had been dramatically boosted due to the implementation of the new building regulations. In fact he said that his sales would be higher if he carried more stock. His company is not quoted unfortunately, but this has got to be positive for SIG which is the only quoted business in his area that I know of, so thought I would mention it here. Maybe a short term punt up to £3ish? Of course they are much more than an Insulation business these days since I last had dealings with them, which is a pity. If they were just plain old Sheffield Insulations Group, and were not carrying all that Goodwill then I would be a shareholder. | newlyn
04/4/2003 14:43 | s34icknote (I'd love to know the reason behind your nickname?) - I understand from a previous thread that you work in this industry, so do I. You are not alone here, infact I have been watching these and note that they have been ticking up quite nicely recently. I do not own any shares at the moment. I note the unusually positive comments by the chairman with the results, which seemed to be overlooked as the share price was marked down, and I wonder if the new building regs are having a real positive impact on trade and perhaps we could see a change in sentiment for this company. | hjb

16/1/2003 17:07 | check the chart...it has failed at 200p as expected. I would remain short below 200p.... | yas0
15/1/2003 22:48 | Bought in at 183p just as they rose. Profits in line and sales up 10%,every trading statement says difficult trading and they move on steadily. EPS 28/31p.Good Div to. Ripe for takeover. This will move after results in March. Good Luck. | s34icknote
15/1/2003 22:15 | No comment on yesterday's 20% rise?! I take everything back that I have said about this stock. I've been both optimistic and pessimistic about this stock over the last 12 months, I confess that I've no idea now. | hjb
19/12/2002 15:02 | mnorgz........ well the chart says it all.........and several times the company have indicated that they are experiencing trading difficulties.... it seems that the next update should see them tank in my view. There has been plenty of action yesterday and today (up strongly today) .....i just sense that there may be someone accumalting a stake....i am not aware of who ....anyone shed any light??? | yas0
13/12/2002 11:26 | Can anyone tell me why this stock is a short. thanks | mnorgz
09/12/2002 10:28 | Darkstar, I agree that the outlook for this company is not greart, and the chart looks grim at best, but the balance sheet is not that weak..........i am looking to increase my short but may wait to see if we get a small rally first.... we will see....the only problem with this is a takeover..at depressed levels this may occur .. | yas0
08/12/2002 21:16 | Target now sub 100 | dr darkstar
07/12/2002 17:04 | Yas0 ... the basis for my view was the pending break of support .. we've had that now and I confidently expect a big drop from here | dr darkstar
06/12/2002 22:39 | Perhaps my words of caution earlier were a little premature. The share price certainly indicates that all is not well. Somehow I dont think this company will be around in a years time. | hjb
06/12/2002 16:34 | Down through support yesterday - only one way to go now. | benson |
