Ref BARC

If the market does the usual you are likely to get your chance to sell BARC during the Santa Rally. All being well it should get to 280.

You will need to be careful. It is in a downtrend channel and a close below 261 would be ominous.

Penycae - at first I thought you wrote 'must be getting old' because of the track but you must have meant because you were calling it a night.
I like James Blunt.
Met him at a party about 5 years ago when my leg was in plaster and I was on crutches - he was charming, genuinely warm and, like the song you posted a link to, most definitely DOES look you in the eye. Intelligent too - clever enough to ensure he didn't go with a record label that would fleece him from the start.

BARC pierced the Weekly SMA 200 to-day but has managed to pull back above it.

Monkey has done you proud with your buys.

FOREX playing games this afternoon which also appears to have affected the indices.

I understand the reasons for the BP. short but why HL.?

Afternoon all.
Ref BARC - was looking for a home for some of Mrs.P's hard earned. I like BARC at 262, and was happy to get in at that level. Been holding some HSBA for quite a while. That's been underwater since I bought it, but it's now about to come good. It's my intention to offload there (when in profit), and if the runes are still right, add some more BARC. I can get more bang for Mrs.P's bucks there. BARC is a play on the 200 EMA, and I'll off-load when it gets there. Not margined, and the plan will stay the same whatever the trading statement reveals tomorrow. If it tanks, like as not HSBA will go up, so the strategy can remain the same.
Got out of EMG nicely, and rolled very nicely into POG, so smiles all round at the moment.Did well on AGK too.
Building a few shorts in case the market decides to fall. Got BP and HL on the dark side. HL is tricky, but when it falls it should pay for Christmas.
Staying out of FOREX for the minute, until the FED plays its hand. Aggressively into gold (physical) as well as POG and HOC.

Trade well and prosper Earthlings, some music later on.......

Be interesting to see if you and monkey are in tandem - LLOY reports tomorrow and then BARC on Wed so we shall soon see how this will play out short term.

Good day Babywolf

I don't have a position in BARC but as it appears to be 'all the rage' I thought I would have a look at the Daily chart.

Support is 261. If it fails then next support 242.

Resistance is 280-285. If it breaks above then mid 290s'

Daily SMA 200 is 296.

Weekly SMA 200 is 261.

The Daily MACD does suggest lower but that would mean breaking below the Weekly SMA 200.
