Ukraine is in talks with US drillers to pump gas from its vast untapped reserves to Europe and ease the region's energy crisis by the end of the decade, the The Telegraph can reveal.Naftogaz, Ukraine's state-owned oil and gas giant, is preparing to market its national gas reserves, the second-largest in Europe, to international drillers and is already in discussion with US firms.A move to prise open the reserves could help Europe find new sources of gas once the war in Ukraine ends and help countries shift away from more expensive liquified natural gas (LNG) imports. The company has identified huge gas reserves waiting to be tapped, including in the Dnipro-Donets Basin.Myron Wasylyk, adviser to the Naftogaz's chief executive, told the Telegraph it has held discussions with US companies about joint agreements to prise open the reserves. Naftogaz "soon will be marketing some of the projects", he added.Mr Wasylyk said: "We have a number of resources and gas reserves there that are basically the second largest in Europe. There is exploration potential there and also export potential there. We estimate there could be up to 40 billion cubic metres.... Daily Telegraph

Seriously?? He was / is utterly absolutely completely the wrong candidate when it comes to the UK’s economy - clueless is being very polite !! I’d have used utter complete incompetent fekkwit !!!

What makes you think that that background gives him any qualification, experience or competence to run the Uk’s finances - the answer is none whatsoever ..???????????
DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK FOR ONE NANOSECOND THAT his PHD thesis titled Political thought of the recoinage crisis of 1695–7 GIVES HIM ONE BILLIONTH OF AN IOTA OF CREDIBILITY TO RUN THE UK’S ECONOMY?? - YOU ARE SURELY KIDDING AREN'T YOU ??????

Competence for the role is required and he had none & I’m not convinced Hunt has much more.

The IR should be given an earful, to.pass.it on to the CEO and management, with the abysmal share price performance - let's hope they raise the dividend in the Q3 results this month and share price goes to at least £27 levels last breached in 2018. Looks like even share buyback size has reduced for Shell, while bp keeps chugging on.

Clueless chancellor gone, have to say that the pension funds turmoil and having to liquidate funds is prob not helping at all here, with Shell the go to big holding in many of their portfolio, both today and this week. Farce

Down to spineless woke PC Green agenda deluded self-serving incompetent inept management who are TOTALLY disengaged from shareholders wishes (which I doubt will change much) plus the refusal to raise dividend
I do however still have a little hope that the dividend will be raised

What a shame - since Q2 results bp has left Shell's share price performance in the dust. That is with their $25bn or over 25% of their market cap being written down in Russia.

John Redwood@johnredwoodTackling the cost of living crisis and reducing public spending both require cheaper energy. The government should do more to increase domestic supply and reduce taxes on energy. This can cut the big costs of the support scheme and ease the squeeze on households.6:45 am · 11 Oct 2022·Twitter Web App
