philanderer I'm going to copy your post and chuck it on the TEG thread it would explain why a bidder or financial restructure is taking so long there.

hi phil... thats a very interesting ( and depressing !) article and I guess partly explains the poor SKS performance when you add in the Europe dimension as well

Slightly comforting to see a director buying just under 10000 shares.

a little spike up at 11 30pm, no obvious reason to me, looks like a little intra day double bottom yesterday, so I hope this has reached its low for the current move and it can recover a bit on cheap buying.
I wonder if any of those broker TPs had a date on them, without one its rather meaningless, bit like George Osbournes 100 year gilt !!!

Brokers pretty positive since the recent IMS...

8th feb Goldman Sachs neutral tp 133p
7th feb Peel Hunt buy tp 126p
7th feb Investec buy tp 150p

7th feb ++++ IMS +++

Unfortunatley long term seems the only way we are going to make money on this. Looking back over the long term, the 2008 high of about 280p looks nice :-)

Chartwise I usually use the 50day ma and SKS is just below that which I make at roughly 103.5p.

I`m long term on this one so not overly concerned yet.

Morning scotches, right I`ll switch to the other thread...

Why is this thread being used when it doesn't have any charts of share price. It's a pain to read what folk are saying here and then switch to one of the more defunct threads which actually has a chart.

I am hoping to buy in soon for next season ISA/SIPP. This seems like a good long term bet - how to deal with waste.

hi phil... my advfn chart has 200 simple MA at 111p, is that what you are seeing ? It touched this on Feb 12 and came off sharply, not a good sign
Next results 17th May , have we really got to watch paint dry until then ??
Perhaps in some way if it dropped to low 90's I should be grateful to grap more shares cheaply

Morning betman, just hovering around the 200 day ma. Bit of a dead period between the last IMS and full year results.

I`ve added a few more yesterday.

still a poor performance and not joining in the FTSE recovery and European improvements. A stronger Euro should help sterling profits. Is the price being kept low for Caryle ?? Is there something else going on ?

Following up from 149, the facility SKS referred to in their IMS is a new one that is being built at the exisitng facility they have in Frog's island Rainham and is thus nothing to do with the Dagenham plant.

see posting on TEG thread
quote
As a shareholder in both TEG and Shanks I was somewhat surprised to read the following in today's IMS from Shanks
quote
During the period, we also received planning approval for the East London Anaerobic Digestion facility and this is now under construction.
unquote
I am assuming this is the Dagenham facility; this is the first reference that Shanks have made to their involvement in this. If they had taken TEG out I would have expected TEG to have told us.
Anyone know what is going on?

betman I have no news but remember that SKS price has been quite volatile over the last couple of months-ie a couple of months back went sub 90p for a couple of hours-I rather dithered around and missed it and then shot up in the last couple of week with takeover rumours.
No great surprises in the IMS of today-except that with the decline of paper prices and the Euro they do have to run hard to make any progress.
For me the current price is where it should be and it is a classic hold.

I think thses have been held back over Euro crisis worries due to exposure to Belgium economy. Recent Belgium downgrade didnt help. If Greece can be resolved and it seems to be getting closer, then that de-risks this to some extent. Maybe Carlyle now thinking like that. They pulled out at 120p but business has moved on so 140p would be a good price ??

It hasn't exactly been an active takeover market in the last couple of yrs - good to see a bid rumour!
