They tend to put out out an RNS on big prestige contracts not on run of the mill stuff eg structural steel for a warehouse on a trading estate. Think on a risk/reward basis there is much more upside potential. Also be interested to see how India is going. After such a torrid spell they may be saving up news for the results. I think the market is still difficult, but as other posters have pointed out, alot of smaller competitors are no longer around and they themselves are a much leaner and better costed company.

gucci , the housing sector has no great impact on SFR`s business, but major construction projects do have.It will not take much of an increase in large construction projects to have a big impact on this now leaner business.

Itchycrack, Director`s buying and selling has indeed been well timed in the past.

This looks increasingly like a very interesting recovery play.

Differing views - that's what makes a market :-)
My concern here is no contract wins have been reported, and the type of construction SFR are involved in (which is not housing) but large projects is stagnent. I already have a large holding here but will wait and reassess after the results.

skinny, sfr

lovely chart and the crossing over its long term ma is significant. It signals entry into a bullish mode!!

i have followed this stock for a number of years seeing it go down relentlessly but knowing it will make it one day as it is a quality company. I am not one to go for bottom fishing, but this one is a clear exception.

the whole construction sector is booming. as for the housing sector people have already started to talk about a bubble!!

this stock should be on everyone's radar.

I would be cautious here - there is no growth in major construction projects at the moment, and the directors haven't been buying (which is a very accurate indicator for SFR from past experience). All IMHO.

My post no 3542 is also obviously incorrect . Almost 3.3% of the shares in issue were traded yesterday. Thanks again Chasser ---Yours, losing the plot.

Thanks Chasser, I stand corrected .I carelessly mistook the market cap( about 88m) ), as shown on ADVFN, as the no. of shares in issue .I took part in the rights issue, so should have remembered. My memory is not what it used to be .

roddiemac2 - you ARE confused. There are over 280 million shares in issue, following the rights issue earlier this year. The RNS is correct.

Skinny ,--- It looks like someone has put a 2 in front of the real figure in RNS 84335 today . With about 90m shares in issue , 29,492,926 is a lot more than 10.06%. In a world where information is instant ,it is often inaccurate. ( or am I confused? )

26th November should give further direction, upwards hopefully.

Breakout madness will probably set in all good time though.

This look pretty good to me as a chart. 200sma seems overcome and the share price is apparently in recovery mode. What are the likely catalysts for any significant re-rating? Or is this a 'slowly as she goes..'?

(Nothing wrong with those!)
