14/5/2024 20:35 | TF. SRB are jumping through hoops and doing all they can to secure the full licence. What they are not in control of is the bureaucrats and indigenous people for the area where the mine is. I have no doubt this will all be resolved in Serabi's favour eventually but the timing is out of their hands ..... HOC has got a new gold mine through permitting and into commercial production today in Goias State with no trouble at all. Giving employment to hundreds of locals. The difference is Para state is part of Amazonia where the indigenous people have interests that have been ridden over rough shod by loggers, farmers and all sorts and come under the protection of central government. Goias State does its own permitting which is much simplified with only the local Brazilian population to be consulted who are very supportive and more trusting of the mining industry. | stevea171
14/5/2024 17:22 | Stevea, FYI there was a piece in the FT 4 days ago, reporting that the environmental employees in Brasil are striking:.".......Since the start of the year, some 4,000 public servants across a series of agencies controlling a swath of activities - including permits for oil and gas licences, as well as fines for illegal deforestation - have halted fieldwork in protest over low wages and poor conditions.....".Hardl | tightfist
