The are always pullbacks, nothing goes up in a straight line, the peaks and troughs provide opportunities for both buyers and profit takers. Gold may pullback when the lockdowns are lifted and the economy starts moving again.

If a double top forms here the next pullback could be as sharp as the last one, but perhaps not as deep. There are plenty of risks and possible triggers at the moment.

bomber13 & PPVN - You each got a vote from me. Extremely well crafted posts. Excellent summary on some of MH's video information. Best I've read in the past 3 days which includes posts from tightfist and myself. ;)

Big thanks on clarifying the potential. Now I what for the stupid open choke blasts to find your prose disappear.

Exactly PPVN, each to their own since we would have specific competencies - as long as we share generously in their spoils!

Good post Bomber.

I'm personally of the view the shares have developed a lot since last year when gold priced in Reais was half the price. If there is indeed any further weakness I will be buying more.

I was fortunate to be able to buy on the most recent pullback - if there are any more I'll be taking advantage again. I'm not expecting any though (but see the possible rationale for one!) so will just use it as an opportunity if it arises. Still surprised we arent into three figures yet (pence).

And FWIW, not sure Serabi would be a takeover target due to high institutional ownership. Also, the majors would I assume be more keen to farm into the possible pit systems rather than the narrow veins - so I would imagine a more productive deal could be reached anyway...

Yesterday's news gives Serabi a veritable smorgasbord of organic growth opportunities , and it is not all about the immediate areas around the Sao Chico and Palito mines .

Mapping and sampling of the large anomaly between Sao Chico and Palito has thrown up numerous significant gold and/or multi-element anomalies entitled Calico , Juca , Ganzo and Forquilo with rock types both similar to the high grade vein systems at the Palito mine , but also suggestive of possible near surface copper gold porphyry style systems . Indeed , it is no surprise that Mike Hodgson talks openly and excitedly in the webcasts about the opportunity for Serabi to engage in bulk tonnage open pit mining , which would make an exciting departure from chasing narrow high grade veins underground . And elsewhere , the 7km Cinderella shear zone to the South-East of Sao Chico has revealed a large promising copper in soil anomaly with evidence of extensive artisanal mining activity , on which closer-spaced sampling is planned ahead of drilling .

The remote Tapajos region of Brazil where Serabi operates is thought to have produced some 30m oz of gold historically , but because much of the gold was produced by artisans or garimpeiros there is little geological data available , which explains why Mike Hodgson describes Serabi’s 50000 hectares as a blank canvas in the webcast . The airborne geophysics flown in late 2018 revealed a rich tapestry of interesting anomalies over Serabi’s acreage , and when names like Anglos and Rio Tinto are dropped into the mix , as they have been , large bulk tonnage porphyry style discoveries are precisely what they are looking for . Indeed , if you recall , back in November last year , Nicolas Banados , a director of Serabi and one of the two representatives of the Fratelli family , Serabi’s largest shareholder with 33% , said in an interview he thought Serabi would increasingly become a target for entry into the region .

In the near term , we are due Serabi’s Q1 results any day soon , and Mike Hodgson has stated quite clearly that April’s production will not be far away from the fantastic 3600 oz in March with the ore sorter working brilliantly . With good management of the COVID 19 risk in hand , it is now entirely possible that operations will not be affected much at all , and Mike is already talking optimistically of a good Q2 and Q3 . The Brazilian gold price is at a record high of around 10000 Real , a phenominal 66% higher than end 2019 , and the Brazilian currency is at a record low against the dollar at R5.8 . That compares with R3.7 just 7 months ago , the rate Serabi had budgeted for . As Mike emphasises , 85% of Serabi’s costs are in Reals .

Interesting times a 37K and 27K sell first thing this morning but a little while back a 20K buy.

A RNS notification of interest reduction below 10% for R&M.

Market positive day, spot USD/gold slightly up. SRB doing well to stay near highs.

Still waiting and watching. The odds were on a fall back but lets see where this is by Friday. If it holds mid 90s a good sign. Just think it has a great run on the back of a number of positive RNS. But positive based on the times we are living in - i.e. talk of hitting 90% of guidance target. The situation, including production forecasts, looked better in Feb and we had a much lower share price.

It is all about the gold price but remember any market crash will not mean gold producers are immune - people panic and sell. What the Fed are doing is just jaw dropping, virtually guaranteeing all corporate debt and pumping money in like no tomorrow . As I have said before Trump and his power to assert influence on regulatory and public bodies is mind numbingly worrying. He will do all in his power to keep markets artificially high irrespective of the consequences down the line. And there will be. The expected 'bounce' after CV will have its supporters but the clever money will be looking either short term or in their pockets. Timing is the key.

Your link to the BBC Sounds HARDtalk interview with fired Brasilian Health Minister Mandetta is insightful, especially after 12:50 when it seems to get into its stride. The health prospects/actions sound very gloomy and there is the political dimension too - which underpins the slump in the Real?.Sadly, some opportunistic cash on the sidelines could come in useful...... But I sincerely hope not.

This needs to rise fast or they'll be an aggressive take over bid. The exploration is proving much larger future output than Palito & Coringa combined. We could be way beyond "junior" and be heading to US$1B ....

Oi - Mud4Brains, people are unsure on SRB until reading your sell advice, then piling in. They know you'll never be right. At this rate I'll get a new conservatory for the house for free because of your commentary. Keep it up. Several thousand quid up on paper. Not selling til 500p.

tightfist - Here is the bio on the new directory Ferraiulio de Azevedo sourced from the April 27th PR. This person has an extensive background in the resource industry. He apparently has connections with "Western Mining Corporation, Barrick Gold Corporation and Harsco Corporation". This new director could find the talent to continue with the geology interpretation and revising the mine plan for pitable mining. Not mentioned is the law firm's client base. Perhaps they represent some majors not part of his career experience.

As pointed out by you, Ferraiulio de Azevedo could certainly help with the permits. I think COV19 has stalled the issuance process for the time being. Hopefully will know more by mid July.

Luis Mauricio Ferraiulio de Azevedo, aged 56, is a resource industry professional with over 37 years of international experience. He is both a licensed lawyer and geologist with over 27 years of business and mining experience, specifically in Brazil. He is currently the Managing Partner at FFA Legal Ltda, a legal firm he founded with its main office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and which is focused solely on natural resources companies. Mr Azevedo is also an Executive Director of Harvest Minerals Limited and Jangada Mines plc, GK Resources, Five Start Diamonds, and previously worked for Western Mining Corporation, Barrick Gold Corporation and Harsco Corporation. Mr Azevedo was formerly an executive director of Avanco Resources Ltd and is now Chairman of the Brazil advisory board to Oz Minerals Ltd and a non-executive director of ValOre and Talon Metals Corporation. Mr Azevedo received a geology degree from UERJ – Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro in 1986, a law degree from Faculdade Integradas Cândido Mendes in 1992, and a post graduate degree from PUC-Rio, Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro in 1995.

tightfist - Evidently I need to hit refresh on ADVFN BB and look for new RNS/PRs before posting. Great May 11th RNS. The CRUX video was extremely informative.
.
No mention on the ability to successfully sort SC ore. The ore sorter commissioning video indicated some testing of SC ore. Is this still being investigated by the ore sorter manufacturer given they now have trial experience at the PC mill?
.
The POG and ore sorter will pick up the slack on any production short fall. They are generating cash during COV19 pandemic. You can't ask for anything better than that.
.
The overall mine plan is changing given the new discoveries. I'm wondering if consideration will be given to adding a ore sorter at Coringa given the same geology as Palito. There is the possibility of re-vectoring some of the Coringa equipment to the PC area. The recent drill and sample results presented more delightful challenges.
.
The large copper zone presents some opportunities. "Is there a possibility of producing copper from this vast ore body?" is the question being asked.
.
I'm happy to hear the drill program is still in full swing with new targets in Q4.
.
Hire some pit miners to increase in-house expertise. I'm sure there will be some top guns willing to take a shot at this potential big find.
.
Charge admission to the majors leaving foot prints over the permitted areas.

It was great video. I'll have to watch it again.

Hi Tiger,.Yes, I too noted the continued reference to majors interest. Rather than becoming an overall target my mind is still in the potential farm-in arena. The scale of exploration looks rather large for SRB to handle and they don't (to my knowledge) have specific Open Pit expertise either, so more drilling followed by a farm-in? With an SC processing plant..I do wonder if development of Coringa will be put on go-slow to let this scenario play-out, and then deploy any farm-in upfront cash and organic operating cash flow to fund the Coringa M&E?.Pure speculation and wishful thinking on my part, tightfist

tightfist - You made some very good points especially with the payout of the Sprott loan. The loan will be squashed in 7 weeks.
.
I believe some valid points were made about the younger workers having more resilient immune systems. Also, I posted an article about the Brazil President ordering raw material from India to increase HCQ production. Given the PL mill is in the jungle where malaria is more prevalent, I would imagine the PL mine site would have medications on site to address variety of diseases, including malaria, and injuries. Az-ZnS would be an added bonus in the worker's recovery.
.
The only issues I see is access to production materials such as diesel and spare parts. Individual states and cities are imposing lock downs. Not sure how this effects moving essential supplies across boundaries.
.
I'm hoping the stock moves north with the announcement of the Coringa permits and termination of the Sprott loan.

Do you think Mike was hinting at a possible takeover on the video even though he said not. He seemed to slip in a conversation about some majors being invited onsite and sharing their excitement about the geology.

Not sure why he brought it up and then dismissed it.

Probably reading too much into it but I suppose if they can prove up the resources why not
