With respect WHY would anyone buy shares in this company, have they ever made a profit ? This company has had very poor directors in the past and the new bunch seem as inept. They had J/L which when when they took it over was run by good management and was making ££££ the old managment resigned and even thats going downhill.

Sorry to be blunt but all this seems is a vehicle to fund the directors lifestyles. B.T.W have a look at how much they take, er sorry earn a year ! Get ready for yet another cash call as they need to keep up with Jones and they have almost blown what was there.

These boys really are a disgrace. Same old story - small shareholders get stuffed - city boys and directors make a killing. We just dont learn do we!! They really need to sort out the terms of this fundraising soon whilst it is still (barely) possible.
However - fundraising is often done at a premium to the shareprice - so dont rule out a 2p+ deal which could then see this price as the bottom. I do agree that at some point - this could be an amazing opportunity for averaging down for people or getting in for new investors.

And all the city guys know that the lower they can force the price down, the more of the company they'll get for next to nothing.
Markey cap on this one is now barely a million.
Current share price is either a shorting attack to drive down placing price, or the company is on the verge of collapse.
In either case, like so many other, curresnt share holders get shafted, city boys an MMs clean up, and the existing directors get even bigger bonuses for not doing their job well, than thet would get for doing it well.

Mean while the FSA is attacking banks for trivial breaches of practically useless anti money laundering legislation.
Welcome to Blair's Britain

i wonder how institutions, and brokers work out what the company is worth, how much they are prepared to back it, and at what price further placing..

i just cant get my head round the fact that say they need 5 million, any yet the mcap is only 1.1 million.

its my opinion that the sp, and hence the 1.1 mil is an unfair valuation, but how else can the Co. entice new money, without giving the shares away at a large discount. Ive been badly stung recently on TED, who appeared to have a £5 mill funding agrement in place, at 10p a share, but then went ahead and raised a whole heap of cash at 5.6p, diluting existing holders into oblivion. I cant help feeling that the new placing, whenever it happens, and at whatever price is more of the same, institutions only putting cash up at the expense of existing holders dilution.

I would say 5 million will be plenty.

300 million shares at 1.75p.

pay off creditors and 2 mill off borrowings. This will leave the co in a very good position and the share price will recover dramatically IMO.

Capital Fund Raising

I have reported previously that our recovery and business plans are hampered by
a lack of capital resources and that to achieve all our ambitions additional
funding will be required. We are continuing to receive support from our bankers, Bank of Scotland, but the present position cannot be sustained indefinitely without additional equity capital.

We are having discussions with our advisers about a capital fund raising and I
hope that we will soon be able to bring proposals forward for shareholder
approval

Creditors: amounts falling due within
one year

Bank overdraft and loans (8,306) Other creditors (3,060)

...i supose how much cash they need will depend on how much of their overdraft they need to pay off !!

I think its common knowledge that more money is required, i think its mentioned in a RNS...
I have no idea how much they will need to raise though, but it seems likely that a placing would be under 2p.

£10 mil !!!!!

Thats 666 million new shares... there are only 54 mil in issue, that would be some dilution !!

looks like my 2p target has almost been met.

the problem the company faces is that the cashflow they currently generate is not sufficient to support JL which requires 'heavy' investment upfront before payments (usually spread over a number of accounting periods depending upon contract size etc).
They can either suddenly significantly improve profitability on all their other businesses coupled with further cost cuts (are there anymore they can make?) or they need to raise enough cash to see the business to profitability/+cashflow.

IMHO they will need at a very minimum a £10m cash injection which is bad news to current investors as they will probably not be included in this and corresponding dilution.
Usually institutional cash call is done at a discount to current price, so we could see 1.5p being such a level

IMHO - watch this share from the sidelines and handle with care...for now

Shocking this company...management should be slaughtered.

From what 70/80p after consolidation and back to a penny share again is unbelievable.
Divina U need to divorce yourself, U have been married too long to this one.
Hope for U it comes good but it looks like the fall in the share price because another cash call is sought and this time they only gonna get if the big boys get them at rock bottom.
Personally cannot see the logic in that.....retail punters will lose again.

the potential downside from here cant be much. but the upside if they sort out financing is massive IMO.

I think there will be a big steep rise one the deal on finance is done.

current investors will get almost nothing in the coming dilution, however, financing to improve the balance sheet may then provide an opportunity to re-buy a share that may turn a profit.

Investing and losing in companys like this have shown me that just 'cos a company has good products and wins contracts does not mean that their business model works.

In these type of situations shareholders lose but the company survives.

In 2005 the management expects screen to move into profitability after a great deal of operational changes and improvements.

If they manage to produce a profit, then the gains in share price should be exceptional imo.

Petards' ProVida helps combat
motorcycle
rider casualties

1st December 2004 – TRL have today launched DataBike - a motorcycle fitted with Petards' ProVida 3000 motorcycle video evidence system, which is to be used to collect information about the road environment and driver behaviour.

The ProVida 3000 camera and video system is designed to record video, audio and speed information about vehicles on the road. The system combines video display consoles, cameras, microphones and recorders to create a powerful but compact tool enabling information to be gathered, which can then be analysed and used for future intelligence.

Developed to encourage safer motorcycling, the ProVida 3000 system is being used by DataBike to identify areas of potential risk at specific motorcycle accident blackspots. It will also be used to produce simple audits of signage, street furniture and the road surface. Alternatively, DataBike can be used as a training tool. Instructor and rider can review the ride-through from the video recording and advice can be offered on how to improve rider skills.

Motorcycles are a legitimate part of the traffic mix providing the user with access to jobs, education and healthcare. However they are also one of the most vulnerable modes of transport. In 2003 there were 28,411 motorcycle collision casualties in the UK, from which 693 people lost their lives. It is hoped that DataBike will prove to be a valuable tool in helping to reduce this number of casualties and make motorcycling a safer mode of transport

The screen PLc Mission Statement :

To develop Screen into a leading business to business solutions provider.
Specialising in software, wireless & video technologies.
Targeting selected markets in which Screen will be a leading player.
Delivering information to mobile users across the world.
Whilst delivering exceptional returns to our shareholders.

The last line does seem a little silly based on share performance. But to be in at 2.2p is a good price IMO>
