Oh dear oh dear, 3 more days and the "latest news" will be ONE YEAR OLD FOLKS. oh dear oh dear oh dear. ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz | alicewonderland

24/1/2005 15:56 | What's going on with this company ? And what's with the stupid new name ? Have they been taken over by the French ? 'Petard' is French for banger (firework) and 'péter' means 'to fart' - who chose such a daft name and is it related to anything in patricular? | initiate
24/1/2005 15:54 | RNS Number:7088H Screen PLC 24 January 2005 Screen plc ("the Company") Results of EGM Further to the announcement made by the Company on 16 December 2004 and the circular sent to shareholders on 21 December 2004, the Company is pleased to announce that all of the resolutions proposed at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company, held at 10.00am today, were duly passed. 16/1/2005 13:02 | Most of us didn't actually have RHPs, but did read what was reported about it. What was posted certainly said that the placing had already happened, and I for one assumed it (the posting here) was a cut and paste job. dexdringle: fascinating the world of the city isn't it? Not only can you sell what you don't have, you can actually sell more of whatever it is than actually exists at all. As to volumes: There are about 64 million shares in total at present, a check back over volumes will show that there were over 30 million changing hands over the past few days, 14 million on one day alone. That doesn't necessarily mean that half the company has changed hands, and needn't necessarily mean a large stake is being built. If for example you bought a load at 1.25 just after Christmas, you could have sold them at 1.62 on Friday, and then used the proceeds to pay for your placing shares (at 1p). Maybe somoene would like to work out the effective price of those placing shares if you started with a pot of say £25K. | dmhzx
15/1/2005 12:17 | megordon I think if you read back through the posts. RHPS did not place a RECOMMEND on this. It was added to their WATCH LIST. My interpretation of that would mean, after the placing!!!! pc | pc4900074200
15/1/2005 12:09 | I think some RHPS subscribers are going to be a bit upset when the placing happens and these fall to the 1p placing price again or even below. Can't believe this was tipped with the knowledge a placing is about to happen which almost always results in a fall in price. | megordon
14/1/2005 13:09 | If they can buy shares that don't exist, to get votes to make something happen on the strength of closing the trade after the vote with new shares acquired as a result of the vote, would have to be illegal wouldn't it ? They'd have to genuinely acquire shares for sale from existing shareholders to do that wouldn't they otherwise that's blatant market manipulation for their own gain ? Are we sure that 50% of the entire share capital was traded ? | dexdringle
13/1/2005 18:49 | I have real certificates. The EGM is for real on 24th. | timbrooksbank
13/1/2005 18:42 | Dex: More or less what I was thinking. Hey, is it possible that by 'buying' on say a T20 deal, they can even get the votes for nothing??? We know from (I think it was EVO) that it's quite possible to short a company to the tune of at least 5 times its entire market cap. So if they 'buy' today on a T20, from somebody shorting, go to the EGM, push through a Yes vote and then close the trade ........(or if all looks OK, putting up the cash?? Well in that case folks we might as well give up and go home. No that's silly. Not possible at all. Now I wonder if I might crave an indulgence from anybody with real certificates?? All my shares are in a nominee and I haven't seen the real circular. According to the RNS the EGM is on Monday 24th Jan at 10:00 AM at BINNs in London. (but that was only provisional.) Does the circular make it definite? I suppose I could email the company and ask them really? By the way, still persuing various channels. Will keep you posted. dmhzx2000@yahoo.co.u | dmhzx
13/1/2005 14:35 | dmhzx Tremendous note (number 247). Really made me laugh. I didn't realise the 'vote' hadn't happened yet. Yes, of course, it makes entire sense for the people getting the zillion new shares at 1p to buy enough of the current stock (at 1.5p or whatever) to ensure that the vote for the new shares goes through. That must be what's going on. What I don't get is where the liquidity (sales) of the old shares are coming from to satisfy so many purchases. The cheeky bleeders couldn't be buying more shares than are available / exist and promising a balancing entry to the MM's or whoever from the new shares could they ? That would have to be illegal wouldn't it ? Theres definitely something odd going on here....... Dex | dexdringle
