It's not just an SDX thing though, it's something I've noticed over the years in Canada. Here's another random example, AOI,

I'll be spending this Bank Holiday Monday at Chartwell in Kent - the family home of Winston Churchill and now a memorial to that great man.

I do not want to commit lese majeste but I think that one of his wonderful and most famous phrases might apply to SDX following their transformative recent acquisition and the successful gas discovery.

"This is not the end.
It is not even the beginning of the end.
But it is the end of the beginning."

The 2am timestamp Toronto time came from the press release (5 hours ahead of the RNS in Toronto which itself is 5 hours ahead of BST) so no need to waste any more time on it.

Sedar have it timed at 08:14:44. When I've nothing better to do, must look in to where the 02:00 time stamp comes from. Maybe vanmorrison can shed some light on it....

The RNS was released in Toronto at 7am which is midday our time.

It's the website press release which was earlier.

What more can we ask for:-The company are really confident with 3d data. I mean very confident...The gas find has significantly derisked further 3-4 structures on this surveyed part of concession. The company are hopeful of an oil find, "watch this space". :-)If they find oil they have another prospect ready for drilling which has potential to have much more oil. Sd-1 deep.Cameron Snow is the man who knows the these trends very well, as he has worked for Apache in the past. Apache are producing in the aeb zone and Abu roash in western desert.Come on sdx...

tournesol, in practice we get first dibs on news.... drilling news during market hours is bad form (it's a common lenigas trick), which means news is after hours in Canada or pre-open over here, one & the same thing... unless bank holidays intervene

yes the press release was indeed earlier but the RNS not until some hours later;
here's hoping for an action replay as long as the news is good!! :)

I agree tournesol one would expect RNS news to be synchronized for a dual listed stock without news being released to the press ahead of an RNS but as long as the news is positive that's the main thing for me

The SD update was released at 2 of the clock Monday morning in Canada. I'll be checking before Canada opens next Monday as I missed it last time. Of course, the next update could justas easily be next Wednesday or Thursday ;-#))

tournesol posted the comments on here at around 7.10am on Easter Monday whilst travelling back from Delhi. He would have received the Company announcement on his lap top or phone automatically as I assume he is signed up for Company news releases.
Isn't everybody ?

Del

I think your memory is playing tricks on you

unless mine is doing the same, what happened was a news release appeared on the website on the Monday morning but there was no RNS - presumably because it was a bank holiday and our markets were closed

then later in our day there was an official announcement in Canada - effectively a Canadian RNS - that came before Canadian markets opened

next morning - Tuesday - there was an RNS in the

I think that all of the above was in line with the letter of the law as far as the regulations go, but it does not feel quite right to me. There are UK investors who hold shares on the Canadian market and whilst it is true that they could have checked Canadian announcements it feels wrong that there was a timelag between the announcement in Canada and the UK RNS. If I were responsible for corporate regulatory communications, I'd have released simultaneous RNS announcements in both markets. And if I had been concerned that UK investors might overlook an RNS on bank holiday Monday then I would either have held back the Canadian one or I'd have doubled up just to make sure by issuing in both places on both days. Better safe than sorry.

So, bank holiday or not, I'll be looking at announcements and price action in Canada this Monday.

I think you mean 'Tuesday' should be interesting someuwin - I agree, that's the most likely date for an update :-)
...unless we get an update Monday night like we did last time if I remember correctly

Bank holiday on Monday.

It was also a bank Holiday two weeks ago when SDX put up the news of the gas find on their website.

CEO said at that time that they expexted to report on any oil finds in two weeks time.

Monday should be interesting.

Yes, there's nothing new in the update simply a reinforcement of the bullish future at SDX and their focus on upping production to 20k boepd over the medium term (7 wells to be drilled etc)
