well said, Ned. I see all this doom-mongering akin to the old school boiler room behavior, when the worst case gets continually repeated until retail investors think it is almost a given.

he admits he doesn't own any and by what he says about the management and assets, never would!

That is because you haven’t got a clue about what is going on and fear,or hope inyour case, for the worst.

And Winnet - you do not want an E&P investing what little money they have in buying back their shares....you want them using that to dig wells. It is hard enough trying to find that capital in the first place...

The only reason they have proposed that....is to get the share price higher to hit the board's share options.....THEY ARE ROBBING YOU IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES

Interesting. Resolution 11 passed at the AGM - to authorize the company to purchase its own shares...

No, still no clearer Roman.

Aelph are a major shareholder, so they are not going to want to see their investment turn into zero. Hence their flexibility - i.e. the extensions they have afforded us.

It is likely there is one of 3 scenarios at play here:

1. SD is sold and there is either a small loan to be negotiated. OR
2. There is a large capex project in the works that requires more money. So a larger loan is to be negotiated.
3. There is a takeover coming in from the SD buyer, who will swallow the whole company rather than pay $10m USD for just SD.

In the case of the second option, there would have to be considerable disclosure relating to the project economics to get approval. It would make no sense otherwise and would not be voted for...

The line "at the request of the company" is significant

Winnet: if I lend you money at 5%, and you come back to me a few months later and say I only want to pay you 4%....what do you think my answer will be?

I am employed (and compensated as such) to get the highest return for the money I lend. I am not lending to you as a favour, I am doing it to make money. The most I can in fact.

Is it clearer now?

I don't think that's true at all Roman.

Of course, they are going to reiterate it will need shareholder approval. They're hardly likely to withdraw that. Why would the company, on their request, push it out another month so that they can negotiate worse terms?

They might be asking for more, or less, money, but surely the deal will not be worse.

What an odd string of thought...

Let's face it. When SD completes the whole business looks completely different. They have cut expenditure perniciously. They have focused on Morocco and sized up a whopping 47 billion feet of gas to target, they will generate non-operated revenue through the pipeline that we own.

I am happy to hold this in large quantities and have recently bought more.

Ned you really need to take those rose tinted glasses off, if SD was imminent they would have said, also with the current terms they negotiated they could have repaid it if that was the case.....

We got this one wrong.. admit it...

You'd have to own it first, in order to sell it, Roman. :-)

You're in a better position buying today than yesterday but up 0.1p (i can't see the 2-way volume) isn't great. To me it is a pure gamble, and the board so far haven't shown that they have a strategy for creating shareholder wealth. As with any E&P if they strike loads of gas then they're off to the races but one look at Chariot and i'd sell this all day long

To be fair Roman, they do say they are in negotiations so I suspect the information you desire will become public once those discussions move forward. That is the idea of a farm in btw - The gas is proven p50, so relatively low risk, so it's not quite as vague as you seem to suggest.

It is about as good as it could be under the circumstances - they basically have 12 odd months to find a lot of gas (I still don't know how they will finance that - assume SD will be enough to cover?)

There are a lot of smoke screens in the RNS over financing - they already have structured finance deals in place (thats what is a pre payment is) and these 'term sheets' - I'd love to see them. They are basically saying 'if' we find some gas, we will sell it to you, at these terms. We don't know when, how much, the grade etc etc....but can we agree a deal today please? If you're the financier reading this you're going to think why on earth am I going to put any effort into this - when i will have to redo all the figures, and the terms, when I know what we are talking about (most likely many years into the future). Its the sort of thing that will keep the PIs happy (it sounds nice doesnt it?), but doesnt solve any problems about how to finance in the here and now. If you find gas.....you won't have a problem selling it LOL
