This is interesting from the Annual Report. It would seem that SDI should be quite a decent beneficiary from the pound's weakness this year:

"The Group’s principal exposure is to US Dollar and Euro currency fluctuations against Pound Sterling, and in both currencies, we sell more than we purchase and we
have a higher level of debtors than creditors. This typically means that a relative devaluation of the Pound results in exchange gains and an improvement in competitiveness, whereas a revaluation has the opposite effects."

With the US increasing interest rates to reduce inflation markets will continue their slide regardless of sectors. It will also take some time to beat inflation. IMO a long bear market is clearly shaping. So regardless of SDI performance, it will follow the market general lower trend. I will stay in cash for the next 6 - 12 months. Pick them up cheaper which is another way of making a decent profit.

The IC has released its latest AlphaScreens update researching all listed companies for the quest for quality:

"The holy grail for buy-and-hold investors is to find a business that is capable of generating a high return on capital and sustaining it while reinvesting profits. This screen looks for sharesthat display these quality characteristics and can potentially deliver significant compounded returns over time."

The 9 screening criteria cover RoE, operating margins, P/E, PEG, free cash flow, interest cover etc.

Of all the AIM stocks above £35m m/cap, only around 30 companies pass 8 or all 9 tests. SDI are one of them.

TO at the moment might only get say 250. Next years these should be over 300.

I guess some stake building my an institution, SDI aid one of many small cap stocks whose price has fallen for no particular reason ; when some buying comes in there is no stock available

While the stocks are going down SDI is up by a fair amount for 2 days. IMO only a possible takeover bid - in the air - can push the price so quickly. Nothing has changed to the business at all since the results.

Hope so, I'm not saying this is my target price but I've got if it was valued on the same basis as September it would be £3.75!
