So says he conman or clown who tried to fool PIs into thinking they would get a 20% premium on every ounce of gold produced. YRCNMIU. Don't go there son. No-one believes your numbers any more.

And here's a tip for you. If you want to profit from the price of gold, invest in miners who are actually producing the stuff. Cononish is still a faraway dream/nightmare.

Och, wee Graham, you made up the bit about the placing, didn't you? You just don't have a clue how their working capital will be raised. But restarting a mine is certainly going to need some - even you can see that.

Or do you prefer the hapless Gray's method of telling shareholders that no cash was needed - before hitting them with a substantial placing out of the blue?

Galantas debt is less than Scotgold's of course. And they aren't stuck in a peat bog. And they don't have the Gray liability. And their share price is booming.

But some things they do have in common, including no nuggets and no visible gold.

Galantas now booming under expert CEO, Roland Phelps - and a new blasting agreement has been reached.

Scotgold could do with a CEO of his calibre to stop the rot.

Och, wee Graham, I suppose you and your goldbug chums tuned in to "Gold Rush: Parker's Trail" on Discovery last night and learned a little about gold mining in quartz ore - in WA and everywhere else.

Didn't you just love that wee lassie showing off the nuggets in the quartz at 14:35?

And at 7:40 Big John, the hard rock miner who in 40 years of quartz blasting has never once seen visible gold in the ore? "I ain't seen any nuggets yet," said John as he prepared to retire.

In case you missed it, catch up here:

£7.5m NLR loan renegotiated to facilitate drawdowns until December 2021 so that looks like the new target date for cash generation, ie two years behind schedule.

Trouble is, the hapless Gray's target dates always slip so this is likely to stumble on into 2022.

And the loan - only £3.5m of which remains to be drawn down - hasn't been increased so the "liquidity gap" red flagged by the house broker yesterday hasn't been addressed.

More cash needed.

At this rate, if Cononish ever does generate any cash, it will take years to pay back the debt so the mine will be working for NLR, rather than generating profits for other shareholders.

So the price of gold has been setting record highs and other gold stocks are roaring ahead even in lockdown - but Scotgold continues its inexorable decline, long after the bad news bombshell. Who knows why?

Is it placing ahoy - or worse? Maybe the hapless Gray signed a new 5-year contract.

Rain, in Scotland, fancy that.
It it hadnt rained then they no doubt would have whined about the cold.

Hi Beaty,

I hope your spelling and grammar's improving and that you're well and conforming to Gov't instructions to stay home during this time of National Emergency.

While I was checking the weather forecast just now, I came across the following links and remembered your quote above.

I do hope you find them educational and that they help you understand things a wee bit better.

Winter 2020
This winter (December, January, February) has been the 5th wettest winter on record (data back to 1862) for the UK as a whole as well as the 5th mildest.

December was slightly wetter than average for the UK overall, just 16% above average, particularly for southern England and East Anglia, which was 30-50% above average. While January was wetter than average across north west Scotland and drier than average for north east England and eastern Scotland, and average for the UK overall.

Have a good day, stay safe and remember -

Train wreck interims with heavy ongoing liabilities for hire purchase, APT processing plant stage payments*, lease commitments, depreciation, impairments, etc, etc - plus Emphasis of Matter: "Material uncertainty Relating to Going Concern"…plus first warning that they may not have enough finance to get to gold production:

"As the Company does not know when it will be advised that full development activities can resume, it is not possible to be certain that the funding the Company currently has available will be sufficient to complete the development and achieve positive operational cashflow."

(Imho, based on these interims and the full 2019 accounts, this was true pre-Covid.)

*APT liabilities of US$3.8m (AU$6.2m) were due for payment by today according to the 14/2/18 contract announced in the 2019 annual report (less approx $310k (AU$507k) which is payable on completion and commissioning). However, today's interims reveal a previously unannounced new contract with APT dated 14/2/19 which seems intentionally vague about the stage payments and defers final settlement - presumably only of the small retentions mentioned above - to 31 December 2020, which may now be their best guess for starting production.

In any event, this APT debt is a big liability and shareholders should press the hapless Gray for details of the stage payments due as they could bring the company down.
