guru11 - The trading profit was £7 million, which falls outside of my definition of 'very small' when applied to a £35 million company.

The business disposals of £11.9m is inflating the eps no end, but they would have still made a very small profit without this exceptional item. I hope punters buying the stock is aware of this.

Agree, very good results. Outlook continues to be good and they are now a strong hold for me. I think we can look forward to some steady upward movement in the share price over the next few years.

I think it was an excellent set of results. The turnaround is gaining momentum. They have a large cash pile with which to tempt pensioners to transfer out. Europe is turning around well and costs are going to be taken out of the business. A classic turnaround story which Hanover love. I think they may miss out this time around.

Im looking for good news on the pension deficit. Large rises in bond yields will make a huge dent in future discounted liabilities. It would be nice to hear some news on the company making offers to pensioners to opt out of the pension scheme. That double whammy along with the disposal proceeds could transform how the company is viewed in terms of risk. With a much reduced risk profile we should get a re-rating to boot. Fingers crossed we get all we wish for.

Angora...my average is 26p..so not a million miles from where we are....decided not to bail when Hanover pulled out but I did'nt believe they were pulling out on real negativty here...but we will soon find out!!

We shot straight down on the Hanover departure...but are higher now than then...the reaction to the results is the secret ;-)

well i'm sat on bigger losses and should have sold immediately i knew Hanover were out as the downturn in share price was predictable. Unsure about tomorrow, both in regards as to what to expect and what to do, probably nowt! Would love to know the real reason Hanover left though, perhaps the answer may be given tomorrow.

Recent stock market rises in the UK are going to help reduce the pension deficit. The big boost to the reduction will come from the fact that the discount rate they use to calculate pension liabilities has risen sharply since their projections last year. I wouldn't be suprised if the reduction is between 10-20m.
