I honestly don't think it will have a massive effect straight away.
The money is specifically for the " challenge ", none of it will flow directly to SCLP.

Personally I think that the CRUK award has more to do with Prestige/PR/Cred as it won't take any development costs away from the company but will underline the Platforms' cred in a Global environment.
When you think about it it's more likely to become a negative for the share price if they DON'T get a substantial award... If they do , well it's what we all and the market now expects isn't it?

Any thoughts on the share price if they win the £20 million grant from CRUK?

They are already collaborating so must have a fairly good chance of scooping the pot.

As I said the other day, in my experience, if the BOD suddenly become active and are out there shouting about their company, it normally follows that a raising isnt too far behind.... Lets wait and see.

Lozan,
normally I would agree with you 100%, and it does smack of a pump before a fund raise, especially with what we now know eg ;- £12 mill required within 6 months as well as the electricity money, but... I'm really hoping that our new CEO has taken note of our former CEO's numerous gaffs, and has decided to do things in an honourable manner.
RG lost a lot of respect from many people ( myself included ), I think that the new BOD are more than aware of this, and will conduct themselves accordingly.

But hey, who knows ?
Its just nice to see reasonable volume and a blue number... its been way too long !
Not sure whether the share price can continue the upward momentum for long, but lets enjoy it while it lasts.

Loz , very noticeable in the Interview that the dreaded funding was not mentioned. I guess Cliff wanted to avoid that subject.

Well fwiw - a small cohort for Phase I of the trial would prove up toxicity (or lack of hopefully) & on the back of that they may have agreement in principle.

Well, I should have written,"I,like you can only hope...."
Yes I know we were agreeing and the IP is the only thing we have ATM.... But a nice newly announced income stream / capital injection from a well negotiated licensing/collaborative agreement might change that... but who knows?
As I see it we're on a bed of hope ATM, lets hope we're not disappointed near term, but sadly that's still a possibility.

"I can only hope that we don't sell the family silver for peanuts, "
THAT was EXACTLY my point
SCLP don't have 'much else' to 'bargain with'.... other than 'the IP'

I see the market is already reacting and 'taking-the-shine-off' the M F F F 'cheer-leaders' ... "We are MINTED"... "UP we GO"... 'CERTAINTY' version of S P movements

Loz,
Agree the funding's the key now.
Sadly people don't seem to understand that the science became secondary to the commercialisation some years ago, and although the science continued to glitter, the financing didn't.
Now I'm with you, we're at a junction where the BOD's negotiations/acceptances/strategy will determine not only the future direction of the company but also the quality of the RONC on new money.
The manner in which the funding is achieved is also seriuosly important, and wouldn't it be interesting if we had to endure another two or three years of inaction if the purse strings were held tightly shut against any terms the BOD insisted on enforcing rather than "give away" the IP too cheaply? I doubt that but it's not impossible.
We have one trial funded already and that's a start.
What comes next is an unknown, but surely the BOD wouldn't have entered into a collaboration requiring capital if that hadn't been secured already at an attractive term? I hope not.
So again (always the same now) maybe wait and see. I can only hope that we don't sell the family silver for peanuts, but that's something that can't be controlled from our side!
In the BOD we trust?

Tosh.... :-)
Yep we've all got our failures.. but one good one and as long as you get your original investment out... the remainder's a free ride..
Only need to do that and get one big winner and then you can build a portfolio.. :-)
I find it worrying when some try and take the p*ss out of others' bad ones... we've all got/had some... so what's wrong with getting it wrong sometimes? At least it shows honesty... I always laugh at those that profess to never screwing up in this game (particularly AIM Bios hehe). Shows their lack of investment experience in my view. Spread it around I say, then at least if one of 'em's going seriously down there's other things to look at or maybe even celebrate going up!!
Fingers crossed with SCLP ...
It certainly looks interesting,

It would appear no one has noticed yet another slippage in time scales for the SCIB1 combi trial. It has now gone from late 2017 to Q4 2018. Chiplin stated when funds were raised in 2016 that it would enable the trial to commence in 2017. The vaccine was also ready in mid 2017 which will mean 18 months sitting on a shelf which is almost a third of it's shelf life. Ichor have submitted their application and ours will be ready by the middle of the year why another 6 months delay. Incredibly poor manangement of timescales and not for the first time.

Well the pace has changed since RG stepped down, but it is all news that he has been working on for a very long time. He has certainly left an incredible base to work from and i wouldn"t mind betting there is still more news to come from it.

It is not so much what WE are paying ISA, but just HOW MUCH we know is coming in from any commercial deals to announce that.

Tosh, i fancied a few NIPT shares at 5p, to me it wasn"t so much what they lost, but more what they have gained and what is left to work on. Not so sure they will remain where they are, but i just fancied a few more here in the 10s. Take care.

ONW,
exactly. Only a fool would risk everything on a single baby bio listed on AIM, its crazy.
Anyway, enough said about that idiot... ( I see someone else is now giving him a kicking on the other place as well, good on him / her )
I'm also long SAR in the bio sector ( another frog that I kissed, which has done ok so far, but not set the world alight ) and also, the infamous NIPT, although NIPT was a somewhat binary risk, it either won its law suit and rocketed or it lost it, so as it lost, I now have to either sell up and take it on the chin, or hold for the revised building plan... I have opted to stay in for the time being , so lets see what happens there.
Really nice talking with you ONW, common sense prevails when madman don't get involved.

"In return, ISA will receive an upfront payment from Scancell and is entitled to milestone and royalty fees following achievement of certain criteria as defined in the agreement."

I thought that SCLP was looking for finance - how can they afford to do this without having, or being certain of, a source of future funds in the offing ?
