Well after last weeks surge to 635 intraday we find ourselves back here at 575, struggling to get my head round it really. I keep buying the dips and am well into profit but these constant dips are really doing my box in and there are only so many times you can top up :o(

UK mortgage lending up by a fifth, says lenders'

UK mortgage lending surged to its highest monthly level since October 2008 in May, with activity even surprising lenders.

Strange behaviour for the last few days, always ending up at 600. Wonder whether something is happening in the background.

Could be fun.

It's had a good run through the mkt fall fozzie and only a minor pull back. Lovely breakout - and a steep uptrend developed imo:

Agreed, certainly helping fight the red monster wreaking havoc with my portfolio and spreads.

Well the previous chart highs were at £7. When that level gets broken there's no chart resistance - ie, no points or prices on the chart that have been insurmountable so the share price tends to move up faster on technical usually.

Up today on a day like this - rather positive and strong imo.

I go by fundamentals and don't know much about charts. Can you explain?

If you like charts you have to love this - the biggest cup and handle/bowl you could wish for - when £7 goes (and that's only 15% away) then this chart screams buy me for the time of your life imo.

Broke the recent highs today on a weak day - very positive imo.

Only a small correction so far from near all-time highs in the markets so far. And SVS has been rising against the trend.Bodes well for when the markets resume their progress.

Yep, cracking bump up.

Lets face it, where they principally operate this can only go one way.

On a screamer of a breakout today - from the year end results - just as a reminder:-)

"We have made a strong start to 2013, particularly in the UK and Asia, and we expect to make further progress across the Group in the year ahead. We anticipate delivering continued improvements in our businesses in Continental Europe and the US although we are mindful of the risk of further weakness in some of these markets. Our Investment Management business has a good pipeline of funds to invest through its European platform. In Asia, whilst we anticipate that the most recent in a succession of control measures imposed in Mainland China and Hong Kong will have an impact on transaction volumes towards the second half of the year, the medium and long term characteristics of these markets remain compelling.
In summary, we have started 2013 more strongly than last year and we are confident in the Group's prospects for the coming period."
