Never met him but I did communicate on a number of occasions. We had our disagreements but he was always courteous and willing to answer questions.

My sympathy goes out to his family.

Savannah Resources* (SAV LN) 3.5p, Mkt Cap £64m – NOA resource update increases confidence in the resource

BUY – 21.1p

The Company released an update on the NOA deposit following a drilling programme.
The campaign increased confidence in the resource with 93% of total now in the Indicated category, up from 67% previously.
Tonnage wise the resource is little changed and is the smallest within the Barroso Project accounting for just 2.5% of total 28.1mt resource.
Updated resource now stands at 0.7mt at 1.03% for 6.8kt Li2O including 0.6mt at 1.03% in the Indicated category.
Potential for an expansion of the resource remains with mineralisation still open along strike to the west and at depth to the north.
Separately, the team received drilling results from Reservatorio (15% of total resources) and Grandao (63%).
At Reservatorio, a couple of step out holes (50-100m out of the last drillhole) showed extension of the mineralisation at depth with intersecting:
26m @ 0.85% Li2O from 155m in 23RESRC040
21.8m @ 1.37% Li2O from 132.3m and 9.2m @ 1.08% Li2O from 157m in 23RESRC041
An infill drillhole confirmed continuity of the mineralisation over 100m between previously completed two holes returning
36m @ 1.28% Li2O from 151m in 23RESRC039
At Grandao, results from two RC drillholes received that targeted southern and northern margins of the main pegmatite showed that only northern hole intersected lithium mineralisation including
18m @ 0.93% Li2O from 35m in 24GRARC132
Phase two of the current drilling programme will target Reservatorio, Pinheiro and Grandao to upgrade the resource at these deposits by the end of Q3/24.
Conclusion: NOA resource update increased confidence in the resource following an infill drilling programme largely focused on confirming continuity of the mineralisation allowing to release maiden reserve and estimate mining inventory for the feasibility study. In addition, step out drilling at Reservatorio and Grandao showed a potential to add more tonnages into the resource with mineralisation remaining open in multiple directions.

Exciting news from #SAV. We're pleased to announce an upgrade to the JORC Resource for the NOA orebody at our Barroso Lithium Project in Portugal.

With 93% of the resource now in the Indicated category following the recent drilling at the deposit, we're one step closer to our Definitive Feasibility Study goals. We also announced some further significant drill results from the Reservatório and Grandão deposits. We've confirmed lithium mineralisation continuing at depth and along strike, setting the stage for further resource expansions in the future.

The price hasn't gone down. It artificially bounced up by 0.05 at the close last night which was then adjusted this morning.As to the drilling, this is the first hard evidence on the drilling front for years and for the DFS and any final investment decision for the company and any investors/lenders alongside, it needs to be classed as indicated as a minimum.It may seem quite dull, but it reconfirms what was expected and makes NOA bankable. The rest will follow.As importantly, it more than hints that the overall resource still has more to give when they are ready to unwrap those presents.

The main focus for me was that the drilling has allowed the resource at NOA to be included in the DFS. A jump of 26% in the indicated category is a meaningful rise.

If my memory is correct NOA was a smaller part of the Barroso project yet it looks like it will contribute about $7m.

Resource upgrades at the other projects targeted by end of August.

Slow burner it has surely been but moving in the right direction.

Now what else was mentioned in the update of 9th April?

Everybody knows the product is abundant so why waste more money drilling. The site must now be full of holes

UKG, would presume that it is the conference that they tweeted about - link on LSE site. Also interesting background of the new Portuguese minister who is steeped in mining and engineering. Should be supportive of companies that are doing it right.

To be fair, the company has advised that they would be releasing the drill results for NOA by the end of the month and would be organising some sort of online investor update by the end of the month. He does preface by saying 'potentially game changing week' which depended on two things; firstly, that the company had supplied and arranged as detailed and secondly, the information proved to be of interest.Whilst an RNS with the drilling results is on the press of a button so could easily drop, from the experience of other companies, there would tend to be some notice to setup an online event. It was perhaps not an unreasonable expectation that something would have been heard, with only Mon/Tue next week remaining. I don't think he is responsible for either current 'no shows'.Perhaps a bit of an unnecessary dig, but each to their own.
