unfortunately there is not really any such thing as satellite internet as it has no return path. the adverts don't tell you that you have to plug your phone line into the back of the set top box. i thought ADSL was available (or will soon be) everywhere , although i must say the performance looks very poor next to broadband. i assume that you are not actually talking about having a broadcasting uplink to the satellite. the sky service is really aimed at people who do not have a pc and want to use their tv instead.

Sorry Argy, couldn't resist.

I'm very well thanks - enjoying life. You too?

Would I be right in thinking that Mr F did come out to play after all today? If so, would he now be clear? Comments appreciated.

As I am unable to get either adsl or cable broadband services I am now looking into satellite internet services.Have any posters any experiences with this or looked into costs and advantages with any of the companies involved? Are certain satellites better than others? How do ISPs deal with this? Do costs vary much? etc etc etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as would any other suggestions to speed up internet access/downloads etc
I seem to spend most of the day and part of the evening in front of my screen(sad?)
so would appreciate any constructive comments.

TIA ARGY2
