His buy was a token to show good faith - it was only £20k. Over the long run he'll get it back. If he's in the office with Graham Wylie and Graham says "don't you think it would good if you bought some shares" he's hardly going to respond with "I would prefer to short them!"

First rule - ignore the analysts.

See how far it falls before buying.

Thats a bit of drop this afternoon. A good buying opportunity?

It's getting exciting!

If Sage goes down on an up NAS day it seems to have become decoupled from the US.

Maybe the market thinks Sage in the US will be over run by Great Plains?

When is the date for reporting results?

Directors shouldn't really buy (or sell) in closed periods. I see the closed period as the time between closing the books on the half year or year and reporting those numbers to the market. As Sage are at the moment perparing their figures for the 6 months ended 31 March, it's quite obvious that the directors know more about those numbers (and whether they've met expectations) than the rest of the market does.

Well it's only a piddly transaction. He's only done it to get a bigger share of the smoke salmon sandwiches at board meetings.

Mertles, Directors cannot buy in closed periods can they. Why do you think it is a closed period? Its a good sign to see directors coming in especially as results are coming up. I expected a positive market response to it really.
It did seem to be a bit of a hidden transaction, ie reported after the close?
What do you think.

Are you accumulating MMO2? Be careful, the Telcom sector is risky.

Did you notice that one of the directors bought 10,000 shares on Monday. Was announced after the close yesterday. A bit cheeky me thinks, in what must surely be a closed period.
