Perhaps that's a sign of some good news due tomorrow if the MM's want stock...?!

Can't see any bad news, results were excellent, company is growing with dividends being paid and cash in the bank. No plans to sell out now. SFE is volatile and can jump suddenly just as quick as it drops.

Ridiculous drop today. Totally out of the blue which suggests a tree shake to me. No rns - Just a sudden drop. A day before the recent results there was a big drop as well.

Well, I didn't see that coming when I bought recently at 170, I also looked to see what the bad rns was. Maybe it's a tree shake, we'll see at close I guess.

I actually rushed to the RNS page thinking they did!

Ridiculous value for a business making lots of cash.

Ticks all the boxes. Once the market catches on it will rerate.

Some months ago I had a (not quite as) bad experience as I wanted replacement windows. The quote I got was way above the local firm which I subsequently used but I had several phone calls from HO which hinted heavily that they would match the local price. They returned without any difficulty £75 deposit I had paid. Strangely enough I had a call from them last week following up the previous contact and hope they have now taken me off the list.

I have shares in a number of retail companies whose product I would not touch, but I am happy for them to make money for me. Clearly many people are happy to deal with them - so it must be me!!

Have any shareholders here ever dealt with the company as a customer? I came across SFE whilst doing some research and thought (as I was in fact in the process of buying some new doors and windows) that I would 'try them out'. Well, I have today dealt with 2 people over the phone and also had a sales rep round all in the space of a few hours. Speedy! Thats the good bit. The bad bit was that person No1 on the phone sounded like Karl Pilkington (aye, we'll 'av someone nip round to see ya) and other than knowing his script was pretty useless. The next person who I believe was from a local office was equally robotic and other than getting a sales rep organized was just as unendearing. Then the sales guy arrived. Suitcase with a belt tied round it to keep it closed, zero charisma, didn't seem like he wanted to be there, would only provide verbal quote, moaning about head office and number of meetings they have to attend etc etc. He noted the fact that SFE are the biggest in the country etc. Amazing. At the outset, I may actually have bought a door from them if they offered more than one type of the door I wanted but the whole experience was almost exactly what you would expect of double glazing firm from a few decades back. Awful. This is not to say they are a bad investment but personally I would not want to hold shares in a company who employs people like the ones I have spoken to today.
