Ryanair Holdings PLC said Monday that it is facing further disruption as cabin crew in Spain said they are preparing for strike action in July to demand better working conditions, including a collective worker's agreement.
Spanish unions USO and SITCPLA on Saturday called for a news series of strikes to be held on the following dates: July 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27 and 28.
The unions said the results of its industrial action so far was 199 flight cancellations and 974 delayed flights, adding this was more than the total of all previous strikes combined.
Lidia Arasanz, secretary general of the USO trade union at Ryanair, said the Irish airline was "the only international company in our country without a collective workers' agreement."
Ryanair wasn't available to comment.
The news comes on the back of easyJet's cabin crew in Spain, announcing nine days of strikes in July in response to blocked pay negotiations between employees and the budget airline.
On June 23, U.K. trade unions Unite and GMB said British Airways' check-in staff at Heathrow Airport in London voted for strike action amid calls for a 10% pay cut made during the Covid-19 pandemic to be overturned.
