What does anyone make of the news today of transfer of shares off market. YF Finance Limited - TO - Askar Alshinbayev (of Hong Kong) Stake building, long-term....?

Someone sees value - or am I missing something?

Earl knows the business and inherent value better than anyone, so he would be delighted to acquire the Sterling Trust shares.

There is clearly some RUR stealth buying in progress, probably Gyllenhammar as he's on radar above 3%.

In any event, the last news (good) was buried on a friday afternoon with proposed warrants at 0.75p

The value store is enormous especially given Rurelec are owed "the balance outstanding on the Loan Notes at 30 June 2022 was US $13.35 million (2021: US $14.94 million)" and two Siemens Westinghouse 701 128 MW gas turbines are on the books at US$9.4 million.

Given GBPUSD is 1.12 these dollar assets make RUR look stupidly cheap at £2.8m

many european companies are today looking at buying oil/gasfired turbines to secure their power supply. there is a good chance R will find buyers for their two units soon - and inflation will indeed help them get a better price for these.

inflation is good for Rurelec and the gas turbines becomes more attractive given the geopolitical situation/development. could well fetch 2p/share.

With a published trade 1,535,946 on 29th June, looks like a pop above 3%


At a guess Sterling Trust shares will be resolved this summer and bidders are circling according to the last administrator report.

Seems clear by the lack of enthusiasm by management to announce good news that they are in the game to get the Sterling Trust RUR shares.

Was about to say, they should not be out of cash esp. with the sale of one of their larger turbines last year + the remittances from EdM, but ideally something new here would be welcome eg a farm-in somewhere (Chile?) etc. etc.
