About time too ;-)

RPC Group plc (LON:RPC)‘s stock had its “outperform221; rating reiterated by stock analysts at RBC Capital in a report issued on Wednesday, MarketBeat reports. They currently have a 700p price objective on the stock.

Good comment, santorini. Regarding falling (or, at another time, rising) polymer prices, RPC does have the power to pass cost price changes to their customers - the time lag makes this beneficial when prices are falling and cost-enhancing when rising - but only for a short period and over the long term their margins can be defended. This is because, although you say there are "low barriers to entry for rigid plastics, deodorant bottles etc." this is not the case with specialist plastic containers where RPC can 'lock-in' customers to their designs (e.g. Nespresso capsules or the ornate Gaultier perfume containers).

jeffian, IC's recommendation of RPC similar to Mr.McGuire's recommendation to Benjamin in The Graduate to buy plastics?
I really like RPC, its a quality company, they are leveraged up (net debt 75%, hedged or rolled maturities?) in a growth industry, repeat business growing globally at 6%, with rising cash flow, they have wise management who know how to invest in their operations and allocate capital wisely with smart earnings enhancing acquisitions, Promens (Europe), and Ace(Asia), also raw material prices are falling/polymers, in line with oil, and Europe(85% of revenue) is showing signs of recovery.
The negatives are signs of a slowing global economy, copper/oil/gold falling, low barriers to entry for rigid plastics, deodorant bottles etc., and a valuation that is closer to fair value than cheap IMV, eps growth runs historically at 9% compound vs. forward PE of 14x, and a dividend yield of just 2.9%.
With rising interest rates providing negative headwind I suspect the stock has a further 10-15% upside, the risk/reward not great in a mature market-would rate the stock a hold.

Not sure whether to read that as 'unplanned post acquisition cost' or 'acquired with move/costs in mind and accounted for'.

Just catching up with the update.Seems positive.

Polymer prices increased because of forces majeure.
Can think of other companies who would like to blame forces majeure lol but i trust this one.

The price of Polymer has now reduced so the lag should even itself out by the time of the results.
