Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (RBS.LN) said Monday that it issued around 50.7 million pounds ($67.1 million) worth of shares.
The U.K. bank said it issued 20 million new share at a price of 253.6 pence per share, which it based on the average market price of shares in the period since its first quarter results on April 27.
RBS said it issued the shares in order to offset the impact of coupon payments on discretionary hybrid capital from a Common Equity Tier 1 capital perspective.
