03/8/2018 08:44 | gcom2, Hope so as the analysts have several pence estimated for the FY so maybe 5p final. I'd be very pleased with that. No timetable for the dividend though... | smurfy2001
03/8/2018 08:33 | Well investors believed that "if only" the BoE would raise interest rates and "if only" RBS would declare a dividend ... the share price would fly. Perhaps the "if only" needs to include a soft Brexit or second referendum, or any action by Government to ensure that the UK economy and £ does not collapse. Then there is the little matter of USA:China trade wars, which also is said to be hitting investor confidence or at the very least creating the current high level of volatility. | leedskier
03/8/2018 08:04 | so does declaring an interim mean a final is certain? | gcom2
03/8/2018 07:47 | Still managed to make a small profit even after settling the DOJ fine, and a dividend confirmed. This to my mind is fantastic. We would have been ecstatic to have know this was coming a couple of years ago - it could have been so much worse.Just a shame that current market conditions will likely hamper any progress in the share price for now | tfergi

02/8/2018 12:20 | Licked my lips. West Yorkshire police said: “Police can now confirm that four males who were in a car which was involved in a road traffic collision at 5.30am on Bingley Road at the junction with Toller Lane in Bradford this morning have died. | tradejunkie2
02/8/2018 12:02 | Rate rise to 0.75% good for banks! | smurfy2001
02/8/2018 07:43 | Some rate setters on the MPC, including the Bank of England’s chief economist, Andy Haldane, also believe wage growth is just around the corner for workers, amid the lowest levels of unemployment since the mid 1970s, a factor that could help boost workers’ bargaining power for higher pay. Given the differing views about the economic outlook, it is strange that the "justification" for the rate raise is to put the brake on earnings growth. How else is the domestic economy to grow if not from an end of austerity? | leedskier
02/8/2018 06:19 | FTSE100 called to open lower. ? -32 points. | leedskier

30/7/2018 12:26 | cfc, you may be correct in that hard brexit boe would raise rates to protect the £ , share price here would be volatile though | gcom2
30/7/2018 12:08 | Expecting seller results and a dividend otherwise it's time for the CEO to leave. | smurfy2001
30/7/2018 11:31 | Shipping trade through UK ports is some half a billion tonnes a year. Slightly more than 0ne fifth of that is carried on heavy goods vehicles (roll on / roll off`). 108,000,000 tonnes in 2016! Assuming each goods vehicle carries 33 tonnes, the number of goods vehicles rolling on / rolling off annually is 3 million. | leedskier
