The Guardian is in psychological meltdown as it attempts to get to grips with the new Global realpolitik.

Namely that the soft left is being replaced by hard right.

England's cause not helped by a dropped catch this morning. The match seems inevitably headed for a draw.

Will England's football team comprising

Hart; Walker, Stones, Cahill, Rose; Henderson, Dier; Sterling, Rooney, Lallana; Sturridge

perform better against Scotland tonight?

* UK/CHINA: More Chinese banks want to set up shop in London despite the
Brexit vote which has prompted foreign lenders in the capital to consider bases
in continental Europe. British and Chinese government officials met in London on
Thursday to unveil a "strategic plan" to deepen financial and economic ties
between the two countries.

* LSE: The European Central Bank is looking at all options to ensure it can
continue to oversee euro trading after Britain, where many such transactions are
cleared, leaves the European Union, a member of the bank's executive board said
on Thursday. The ECB is expected to push hard to bring the clearing of trillions
of euros in derivatives from Britain to the currency bloc, meaning the central
clearing counterparties such as the London Stock Exchange's LCH.Clearnet
face losing one of their top money spinners.

The path of those who choose enlightenment is easy, you either listen to the wise words I've passed onto you or not. I said ages and ages ago that shorters are about to get killed and some who didn't listen to the wisdom got there shorts ripped. Now, stay the hell long, yes stay long !!!! Shorters you were warned, choose enlightenment !!! Or lose your shirt.

Higher inflation (as a statistic) makes a rate rise more likely and adds pressure to the wages and public pensions bill.

Is the reason for the wilt ....

The Office for National Statistics plans to introduce a new measure of inflation that includes housing costs.

Currently the Consumer Price Index (CPI) measure includes the cost of running a home, but not other expenditure incurred by property owners.

CPIH will cover the "costs of housing services associated with owning, maintaining and living in one's own home".

The measure is set to become the preferred measure of inflation from March.
