10/1/2024 17:04 | Steven Gosling to be investigated for Benefits Fraud ?? ==================== The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed it will check all accounts set up with the UK's top 15 banks as part of new snooping powers. New data has shown the proposals to check people's accounts will cost £370m to set up and £30m each year once it is fully up and running in 2032. Around 97 per cent of people claiming benefits have an account with one of the UK's top 15 banks, which is where the DWP will focus its initial efforts. They include Bank of Scotland, Barclays, Halifax, HSBC, NatWest, Santander and TSB. | redistributingwealth

10/1/2024 09:31 | Octogenarians wishing their life away ,for a few quid lol .Insanity ??FACTWill Aedos start holding down the price whilst the OM payment is awaited and Navitas wait until 30 Dec 2024 to announce FID. The amount of information coming from Rockhopper and Navitas is contributing to the suggestions of incompetence. I've always maintained that is a management decision and it needs to change. However, I agree we need to give RKH three months. If nothing changes then we have the AGM. | gozzie2

08/1/2024 18:42 | What a wonderful track record this ball and bat has lol..SRM Advisers, Europe's largest 2006 hedge fund start-up, run by ex-UBS proprietary trader Jon Wood, has rebranded itself Aedos Advisers and the firm is bringing a new fund to market. Aedos is named after the Greek goddess of modesty and humility.Wood, who is not involved in the risk management or the investment management of the Aedos fund, continues to run the SRM Global Fund.Jonathan Wood is a British hedge fund manager and donor to the UK Conservative Party. He is the founder of the hedge fund SRM Global. He donated £500,000 to the Conservative Party in 2010.[1]Wood was born in Yorkshire and grew up in Whitstable, Kent, the middle of three children. He studied economics at Loughborough University. He was a successful trader at UBS, reportedly earning $2.4 billion for the bank over a six-year period.[2]He was an investor in The Gadget Shop and, after the firm went into administration, he later filed a lawsuit for £100 million against former partners Tom Hunter and Chris Gorman. He alleged Gorman and Hunter had privately acquired Birthdays, ruining a potentially lucrative merger between the retailer and the Gadget Shop. The lawsuit which cost £100 million was dismissed: Gorman and Hunter had made a loss on their acquisition and the judge described Wood as "evasive"[2] and "a very hard and calculating man".[2][3] Accordin | gozzie2
08/1/2024 18:35 | UKEF isn't backing the Falklands oil project??The ECA-covered loan backing Lake Resources' Kachi lithium project in Argentina is due to close in Q1 2025 and will mark UKEF's first project in the South American country since the Falklands war.Australia-based Lake Resources is expected to close a roughly $800 million ECA-backed limited-recourse debt package to finance the construction of its flagship Kachi lithium project in Argentina in Q1 2025. The scheme, with an estimated total project cost of between $1.2-1.4 billion, is located in the Catamarca Province, and will mark UKEF's first project in the country since the Falklands war. The size of the scheme has increased as more drilling unearths more reserves: measured resources have increased from 2.19 to 2.93 million tonnes (Mt) of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) with estimated inferred resources of 5.18 mt LCESkidmarks sh1ts himself over oil and gas drilling ?Tory MP Chris Skidmore quits over oil and gas drillingChris Skidmore announced he would be resigning last week, but has officially requested he get removed as an MPHis resignation coincides with a vote in the House of Commons on the government's plans to offer new licences for oil and gas drilling in the North Sea.Steven,Yes, I think that the Chrysaor Premier merger is positive for Sea Lion. The combined company has much great financial strength and now that the Premier debt is paid off as part of the merger, there should be ability to finance Sea Lion. The recent UK government announcement of no more Export Credit Finance for international oil and gas project hurts since Premier wanted to use UKEF to help get bank loans for Sea Lion. Sea Lion is very technically doable project - not too deep water and no big storms. It is just remote, but not impossible. Rockhopper has been a good partner but Premier wasted a lot of money over the years which caused Rockhopper to spend a lot. Hopefully the end is in sight and it gets developed. Best wishes, Dave | gozzie2 |
