Not much recent volume here, yet RBN is at its all-time high. I am looking forward to further gains after results day.

Cost reduction is the key driver for packaging innovations in 2012, according to the annual Packaging News/easyFairs survey on buying trends August 6

Not aware of any but over the last few weeks it's been all buys so maybe a shortage of stock and a few pre results buyers and we had todays increase. All bodes well for the coming results.

Significant move up today and quite a few trades. Has It been tipped today? Maybe Investors Chronicle or similar. Results just three weeks away now.

APAD...It is also tightly held and even the directors have had to pay up for decent stakes. I am possibly the largest private shareholder that is not connected to a Robinson family member in any way and perfectly happy as I do not plan to sell any of them. All the way through the downturn they paid a very healthy dividend and the business is doing well with both significant property and pension surpluses. Not many companies like that so I intend to let it all play out...patience is the name of the game!

RBN has shown great resilience during what has been a volatile couple of months on the stockmarket. Today's news from DS Smith Plc will focus some investors attention on the investment opportunities in the packaging sector.

DS Smith Plc ("DS Smith" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that completion of the Acquisition of the packaging division of Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget SCA (publ) ("SCA") excluding the kraftliner assets ("SCA Packaging") occurred on 30 June 2012 as planned.

The consideration paid on Completion was €1,582 million (£1,280 million) net of cash and external debt, €1,606 million gross. This is subject to customary post Completion price adjustments. 2 July 2012

Did the cardinal sin of share trading and have bought back in again with a couple of small lots over the last week. Something drawing me back here i don't know if it's the land deals or the director purchases but it's sure great to have it on my screens again.

Yeah Davidosh still a good steady company that has room yet to increase earnings and dividends. Had a £1 target so took it and reinvested in Cyril sweet and Somero enterprises. Good luck all.

Robinson plc
AGM TRADING STATEMENT
At the Annual General Meeting held today, the Chairman of Robinson plc, Richard Clothier, will make the following statement.
"I am pleased to report to shareholders that, as confirmed in our 2011 final results announcement of 23 March 2012, the Group continues to trade in line with management's expectations.
Although overall economic conditions remain difficult, the market sectors in which we predominantly operate, namely Food & Drink and Toiletries have exhibited some resilience to date and we anticipate that this will continue.

Our continued investment in innovative packaging solutions for our brand owner customers is an essential part of gaining new business. Indeed, we are pleased to have just started work with a new major brand owner which has significant presence in the household sector. This important gain will commence in 2012 but we expect further benefit in 2013 and beyond."

battlebus2....Sorry to hear that ! Did you move anywhere nice ? I still think there is plenty to come through in this business and the property disposals as a bonus. Nice dividend whilst holding too.

Is anyone going to the Agm tomorrow ? Sadly I had pencilled it in and would really like to go but the 11am start would mean leaving darkest Kent at about 6am to avoid busy traffic around London and I have other companies giving me headaches to concentrate on.

I hope someone here may be able to get along though.

battlebus....Not a problem. Many have different names on other websites and I would like to change this one but would probably confuse the issue. I even bought a decent lump just two weeks back and I often keep buying in companies when opportunity presents. Sometimes it is sellers and weakness that help my strategy and I rarely buy on results days as illiquid stocks just run away.

I must be one of the lucky one's then as i'm in at 40p with small top ups along the way. Excellent post Davidosh not much one can add to that. Very sorry about a post months back as i didn't realise you were Carmensfella lol.

seekerofvalue....early ! Sadly slightly too early as I first bought at about 70p in the downturn for recovery from memory but it actually fell much lower and so I simply topped up further as I saw the dividend holding strong and the property assets as a good safety net. The management are excellent so happy to see them continue the strategy with the core business and release property as and when they can.
