13/6/2017 16:52 | Lol....respond like what 1gw?? You are one strange fella but also predictable with that response. I will just leave it with me still thinking you are extremely naive and probably a tad over sensitive because you are currently running at a loss with your holding. Maybe that's because you don't understand accounting.... Definition of naive, anyone? | jwoolley
13/6/2017 16:29 | So you (jwoolley) think I'm sensitive because I include an "out of your depth" comment in my post replying to you? And yet you respond like that. Definition of ironic, anyone? | 1gw
13/6/2017 16:25 | 1gw, you make a lot of assumptions about posters and make them seem like fact... you should stick to analyses of rns and accounts - something you are good at and present your side of it.. and accept that other people do have opinions which may not agree with yours... you're not always right, believe it or not... | sikhthetech
13/6/2017 16:19 | which, not for the first time in your posts STT, is a completely different point to the one I was making. I fully agree with your post 4307 and have raised the point in public with the board of R1 at the last AGM. Might we be honoured with your presence at this year's AGM? | 1gw
13/6/2017 16:17 | the fact is 1R have a history of making acquisitions, integrating and then writing them off... you don't need to be an accountant to see that... | sikhthetech
13/6/2017 16:15 | Perhaps jwoolley you could think about investing some of those huge profits in anger management classes as well as in a beginners course in accounting for acquisitions as a public company? And stt, I think you'll find my "out of your depth" comment was merely responding in kind (and fairly gently in comparison) to the last paragraph of jwoolley's post 4301. | 1gw
13/6/2017 16:12 | lol... jw, I've also previously said 1gw is v naive and makes a lot of assumptions about posters... his comment saying it's 'out of your depth' is a typical goading comment the so called family would make.... | sikhthetech
13/6/2017 15:54 | lol...fluffy is going wild over on the hoodwinker thread claiming to be a self made business man... lol.... | geheimnis2
13/6/2017 15:35 | or perhaps, more realistically, a little out of your depth when it comes to accounting for acquisitions? | 1gw
13/6/2017 15:27 | So share with us how you would account for an acquisition like Perk then? You could do it without acquisition costs and exceptional costs could you? You could then manage not to have any goodwill or intangibles? You must be quite a magician. | 1gw
13/6/2017 14:37 | jwoolley - well if they don't make any acquisitions this year, and they can do $15m adjusted EBITDA or so (as per "consensus"), then it looks to me like they're in with a shot at a bottom-line profit. That comes from just looking at the FY17 EBITDA bridge and thinking about how the different elements might change. So no smoke and mirrors there - it's fairly transparent isn't it? On the other hand if they see a chance for faster growth by acquisition, that will necessarily come with some implications for acquisition & exceptional costs and will almost certainly add to goodwill and intangibles. You can call that smoke and mirrors if you like, but it's fairly standard accounting, isn't it? | 1gw |
