Strange spike this morning. I wonder if Schroders have been selling to an interested party?

Hmmm
Schroders are not stopping here and soon they will not have to declare their transactions if they continue .
Good old RTN have a tired image among many fund managers , ideal break up stock though
Great shame , the previous management must be rather cheesed off in the way RTN
Has missed the boat .

Based on the historic trading statements I have put together the av. LFL monthly trend vs last year for TRG. The second half has much softer comparatives than the first half of the year.

In terms of the peach tracker I think it is a good indicator and for restaurants only there has been an improvement since May (if the May half term yoy timing difference is adjusted).

TRG
LFL 2016 2015
Jan -1.5% +2.5%
Feb -1.5% +2.5%
Mar -4.0% +1.6%
Apr -4.0% +1.6%
May -5.8% +3.7%
Jun -5.8% +3.7%
Jul -3.0% +1.1%
Aug +1.1%
Sep +1.1%
Oct +1.1%
Nov -1.0%
Dec -1.0%
TOTAL -3.7% +1.5%

That was the subject of philanderer's post 1465 and if you read it in detail you will realise that the growth is purely attributable to pubs within the M25. Pubs outside the M25 saw sales slide 0.1% while restaurants saw a 0.4% decline so hardly helpful for RTN.

Reminds me of the city analysts covering rtn. I think some of them are going to look rather silly when rtn delivers the +£130m of ebitda and the share price goes to £6.00.

However JD Wetherspoon's trading statements is great reading , mostly about their view of how everybody in the city got it wrong with regards to post brexit state of affairs

Perhaps sensible to let a half of your remaining holding go at these levels , in spite of the divi .
But as has been mentioned volume was good today
