imranawan , my portfolio is pretty well protected at the moment; being roughly 75% cash and 25% equities with FTSE100 and S&P shorts. So out of the total portfolio my RTN shares would be just over 3% of the total portfolio.

Frankie & Benny's owner The Restaurant Group (RTN) shot up more than 6% to 337.8p after talks of a takeover bid from private equity house Cinven emerged.

Media reports said Cinven is considering approaching the troubled company, which has recently issued a profit warning.

Private equity investor TA Associates may also approach the Restaurant Group, but it is unclear whether a bid will emerge.

At 3:54pm: (LON:RTN) Restaurant Group The PLC share price was +16.8p at 334.9p

IMO, slide rule has already been run over RTN by a number of bidders and now waiting to see who is the first one to put a bid price on the table and then take it from there. Bidding war normally follows this sequence. It is wait and see if RNS is issued by RTN today.

Is the rumour of a takeover credible, suggests 500p, which is a decent premium.

ONJohn. perhaps. but i am next to certain we will NOT get brexit. (People are total chickens and scared of by dave and his stories of impending doom if we leave) bookees odds are always quite a good guide to outcome -- much as they were wrong in may 15.

Look at the share price in the last 10 mins! It is moving north at a much faster speed which may mean a RNS is coming out about the bid talks?
