11/7/2015 19:17 | In my opinion this: "•EVO Project-the first additive manufacturing system designed and engineered in-house at Renishaw , planned for H2 of calendar year 2015, has a strong emphasis on automation, monitoring technologies and reduced operator interaction and is designed for single material industrial production." is the potential game changer, but take up will not be that fast and there are some big companies playing the additive manufacturing game. apad | apad
11/7/2015 18:48 | I was pondering Rsw today, and could quite see the scenario where the share price jumps on the results. it has happened brfore. If there has been no deterioration in sales and profits since the interims, and the forward outlook remains positive, then we have a sporting chance. As you say APAD, once the good news is out then it is too late. | redartbmud
11/7/2015 18:30 | Last 3 years RSW was weak before the results - different story in 2011 though. That was the last time I topped up at a tenner. This share really can slump. The trouble is that once good news is out it's too late. apad Outlook In our Interim results announced in January 2015, we indicated an anticipated full year revenue in the range of GBP480m to GBP510m and profit before tax in the range of GBP130m to GBP150m. Our current view is that these ranges are still appropriate. | apad
10/7/2015 18:40 | Looks like I jumped too soon also. Times are definately uncertain. On reflection, perhaps it might have been better to hold off on my recent purchase, especilly as results are out soon. It is impossible to assess the effect that any weakness in the China may have had on profitability. | redartbmud
10/7/2015 16:44 | Apad it may well be sentiment rather than any actual impact on business for RSW? I am watching, not an owner. A terrific company but of course somewhat cyclical. | hydrus
10/7/2015 16:32 | H - of course! So, does China stockmarket equal China activity? I certainly moved too early. apad | apad
10/7/2015 14:27 | Linked to China? 90% of their growth is in Far East. | hydrus

15/5/2015 07:15 | Seeing N1+Singer have downgraded to a sell makes me wonder whose nose has been put out of joint. Comment I sent to a friend yesterday after an earlier meeting may be of interest "I thought it was an interesting meeting yesterday. You are so right about many of the UK plc's and management. Very often it seems to me that the higher the City profile and the more the ceos cultivate the city the worse the revenue and profit performance. A great reverse example of this yesterday was Renishaw where the 2 main directors own 49% of the company between them - keep away from the city and their 3rd quarter trading update continued to grow along with profits" | pugugly
14/5/2015 14:47 | dissapointed now I did not register for their investor day today. | rogerrail
14/5/2015 14:39 | I agree in one respect. If they achieve revenue in the 4th qtr approximate to the average for the yr to date, then they will hit the mid range of their guidance. However applying an average profit margin to this level of revenue would result in PBT close to the top of their guidance which should give a further lift to the share price But there is no guarantee that revenue in q4 will exceed or equal q3 , from previous experience it does tend to be lumpy. However this level of profitabity and cash generation will increasingly make the company a cash cow - it remains to be seen if they can invest the money wisely to accelerate growth of the business, they have made both good and bad decisions in the past. | rogerrail
13/5/2015 09:09 | One has to respect that the Company has retained in today’s T/S, giving the Q3 figures for sales and adjusted PBT, the same full year guidance as was given in the interims in January. But if the top end of the sales range guidance is achieved (as seems likely looking at trend lines) then it is does not look as likely that adj PBT for full year will constrained to only £150m. I would hope for a better than guidance adj PBT with their FY results in July. | campbed
13/5/2015 08:49 | Metrology group Renishaw reported a jump in third quarter profit, on the back of strong revenue growth in all of its markets. The FTSE 250 group said revenue for the three months to 31 March surged 72.6% year-on-year to £145.9m, while cumulative revenue for the nine months to March was up 49% from the corresponding period in 2014 to £248.5m. Profit before tax for the third quarter jumped from £14.4m to £53.2m, while cumulative profit for the previous nine months jumped from £40m to £109.8m. "Once again results are driven by a very strong Far Eastern performance. The magnitude of these orders in the fourth quarter will be key to near-term movements, although underlying organic growth remains sector leading and encouraging for 2016," UBS analysts said in a note. In a statement released on Wednesday, Renishaw said that revenue from the Asia-Pacific region rose 124% year-on-year for the nine months to March, while the Americas and the UK grew 14% and 7% respectively. Renishaw, which has gained 28% since the turn of the year, reiterated its full year guidance for revenue and profit before tax, with the former expected to be in the £480m and £510m range and the latter expected to be between £130m and £150m. | broadwood
13/5/2015 07:20 | Attractive numbers, but only what was promised. Far East dominated, I guess it will always be thus, unless the US decides to make things again. They will be very cash rich at year end….maybe they will be generous to shareholders? Dream on! Interesting that I am listening to Share Radio this morning and a company like this gets no mention, the news is always about the high profile companies. Maybe it will get a mention on Share Radio when the results surface. apad | apad
