13/3/2006 21:37 | I have decided to commence a new thread ... to stimulate interest ..Those who study charts can see for the past few months it has been trading sideways between 505 -550 range ..looks to be heading back up to 550 | kantona
24/2/2006 08:25 | A door creaks open... a figure peers into the darkened room... he sweeps the accumulated cobwebs of ages from the opening... Anyone still watching REL? Looks like a bit of decision point to me - can it cling on around this support level, or resume the plummet? | zzaxx99
16/3/2005 23:19 | Wham - this is a big company, they will weather this little hiccup, why panic, they know exactly which of their customers have been affected so no doubt have given advice relating to such protocols in this circumstance to ensure minimal damage. | bookbroker
09/3/2005 09:04 | suppose those individuals will claim for damage, Reed could end up paying $millions? Very bad news... I've got out.. Reed Elsevier says LexisNexis investigating faudulent access at Seisint unit AFX LONDON (AFX) - Reed Elsevier PLC said LexisNexis, its global legal and business information business, has identified a number of incidents of potentially fraudulent access to information about US individuals at its recently acquired Seisint unit. Reed Elsevier also today reaffirmed its 2005 and longer term financial targets of at least 5 pct organic revenue growth and double digit adjusted earnings per share growth at constant rates of exchange. The incidents at LexisNexis arose from the misappropriation by third parties of IDs and passwords from legitimate customers, the company said. It said information on approximately 32,000 individuals may have been fraudulently accessed in these incidents. The information accessed includes names, addresses, social security and drivers' license numbers, but not credit history, medical records or financial information. Reed also said LexisNexis has already taken, or will take actions to enhance security to enable it to maintain its position as an industry leader in the responsible use of data and the protection of individual privacy. The financial implications of this are expected to be manageable within the context of LexisNexis' overall growth. The demand for risk management solutions is expected to remain strong and the outlook for Seisint and the LexisNexis risk management business remains very positive, Reed said. | wham2003

30/1/2005 13:06 | prior the result, REL will go up or down ? | wham2003
05/1/2005 09:27 | This is a stock that I am giving serious consideration too. Their Scientific Journals are in demand , almost obligatory for libraries, at great expense. I cannot say if this is right or wrong. But I do feel that it is very profitable business. js. | jacsom
24/11/2004 09:40 | 0926 GMT (Dow Jones) LONDON--Reed Elsevier (RUK, REL) likely to raise FY '04 underlying earnings guidance at Dec. 2 trading statement, says Goldman Sachs. Move to "high single digit growth" from "mid-to-high single digit growth" seen, and this may act as short-term positive. Reed's strategy of using mostly all free cash flow for acquisitions, restructuring, with only small increases in dividend, unlikely to result in re-rating. Rates in line, within a neutral sector view. Trades -0.3% at 490p. (BXW) (END) Dow Jones Newswires | brain smiley
11/10/2004 09:52 | anyone else following rel? has been a dream trading stock for months with fairly reliable highs / lows seems to be at a critical level at the moment before deciding whether up towards 525 again - if holds above 500 would expect it to move upwards | crammy
20/2/2004 14:19 | Hello all, Interesting mix of reactions between the journos I am sure you would agree. Good to see it break through 490 and even 500p again - am hoping this is the impetus it needs to totally release itself from the charting patterns that seem to be occuring. Keep pushing the word all you positive thinkers. wip01 - good timing! | leathery
19/2/2004 12:22 | I bought in this morning, don't really know much about this stock, bought in for a pure momentum play. Me gamble seems to be paying off. | wipo1
19/2/2004 09:00 | Double digit gains, dividend up 11% to 12p, looks decent enough. Share up 17p, IF sentiment is good to the sector we might see some upside here. | hectorp
18/2/2004 13:49 | results tomorrow ! any thoughts ?? | millennia
19/1/2004 11:35 | Hectorp - having a look at todays prices it looks like you may have jinxed us! I am a bit bewildered by REL of late, sure the journo's are having a field day deramping the stock at the mo in light of the US$. But what I don't understand is how the institutional investors are letting this flifflaf concern them. The chaps ar REL have shown numerous times in the past their hedging techniques are suitably able to cope with FX market fluctuations and as I have mentioned in the past on this billboard, so what if there is a downturn in hard copy science/legal etc periodicals in favour of online - REL is covering that market as well..... I would be happy if your prediction in 10 - 15 tradings bears out....its in line with my thinking. | leathery
18/1/2004 13:53 | Reed is back in favour with the Dollar falling and the stock is bouncing fast . I think also I saw it tipped in the Telegraph. My target then is 550 p in 10 -15 trading days. REL is quite capable of this. | hectorp
15/1/2004 15:29 | Reed has just created a nice W shape pattern on the chart over the last 2 months.thats a pretty bullish chart pattern and that along with the the media sector performing amazing well..should lead to Reed rallying further I believe.Heres hoping ! | brain smiley
31/12/2003 11:12 | Nive rise this past week- which caught me out agaon, but still long with reduced holding now. I'm also long the March 550p calls - now that IS optimism. Bought for about tuppence each. | hectorp
24/12/2003 09:50 | Seems popular today - see the multiple orders are stilling being placed after a trade. L2 383k vs 164k | billdaly
23/12/2003 16:29 | Well done, I agree no way its normal trading especially with the low vol etc. I see I have a chance of redeeming my weak position and regret selling in the 440's such is life ( and weak willed idiocy). Have a good Xmas , REL traders. H. | hectorp
22/12/2003 15:56 | Sit and watch this.. had to close part of my holding last week. Good chance of break-even with todays rise. H. | hectorp |
