What with Alfa's possible plans to buy 28.6 percent of Regal Petroleum; coupled with Shell's potential interest in natural gas exploration nearby Regal's acreage, Regal might be one to watch in the months ahead. DYOR

According to FT :

Ukraine is expected to sign a potential $10bn-plus natural gas exploration and production deal on Thursday with Royal Dutch Shell.


The region where will take place the so called fracking by Shell,imo,icludes the area where Regal is .Of course not is included in the deal between Shell and Ukraine.
The conclusion is that ,to the quantity of 150 Mmboe proven reserves must be added an unknown quantity -for this moment- of the existent shale gas.

In October 2008 , as we know,Shell made a take-over proposal to REGAL of $1.2 Billion ie. that means a current price of approx. 2,3 GBP per share

Not many will want to buy into this.
Look @ how price failed to recover after ownership of licenses were validated.
No reason why it didn't recover to £1-20 ish other than manipulation.
Only holders left are obstinate & obtuse.
Guilty as charged.

Don't understand why retail punters are not buying when this when clearly it has a covert buyer in the wings, add into the mix a recent 1000 boepd well, more drill news due soon and also an aggressive holder buyer 28% of the stock.
This is the best regal has looked in years surely?

More trading than we have seen for a long time.
Doubt its enough to trigger a holding announcement.
Not many private shareholders out there.
If someone wants to accumulate we will see significant price rise.
Last RNS was very low key & uninformative.
Agree interesting!

A share going up on sells is about as good as it gets, let's see what happens in Feb with latest drill come in.
Potential for 5000 bopd this year.
Strange no news of A1 buying the holding out as reported in December.
Although A1 have no legal obligation to disclose any holding as they are not subject to aim rules as they are Russian.
No retail punters are buying,no hot money in the stock and news pending, could be v interesting v soon.

At some point this buyer , if it is the same one will have to declare their holding. I am holding at 36p and hoping this is the prelude to a takeover. I live in hope !

One thing i've noticed is considering the amount of trades a month ago these are pretty resilient. The t traders must have closed ages ago or taken them up! imho
