10/4/2017 08:19 | This possibly relates to the proposed system in the Severn? | vatnabrekk
10/4/2017 07:28 | I read somewhere recently that the UK government may shelve tidal flow power generation due to its negative effects on the habitat...don't remember where I read it, so we will have to wait and see. | chicken01
09/4/2017 10:40 | Shavian it all adds up....so do not ignore anything... but as you say solar and wind will be the immediate source of storage... | dlg3
09/4/2017 10:02 | Tidal turbines generate power both on the ebb and flow of the tide. The energy gap at slack water is relatively short, but energy storage would still make sense especially in an off-grid situation in eg Orkney or the Outer Hebrides. However this is going to be a minuscule market alongside solar,so we should not get too excited about it. | shavian
09/4/2017 09:31 | That's good dlg3. Yes, I can see that tidal power and storage would work well together because a tidal system would generate power only for a given number of hours each day, depending upon its location. My point about tidal power is that it is totally predictable and reliable, as opposed to wind and wave power which is not. | vatnabrekk
09/4/2017 09:15 | vatnabrekk, Atlantis Resources already voiced their interest in REDT,s technology.. Atlantis Resources Limited | Commercial Tidal Power Generation hxxps://www.atlantis Atlantis are developers of commercial-scale tidal power projects across the globe, striving to become world leaders through continual innovation. “We fully subscribe to the idea that storage is the revolution,” Mr Cornelius says. “If they can prove [vanadium redox flow works as billed] then Scott McGregor will be one of the first people I call.” | dlg3
09/4/2017 09:08 | Plus REDT are not aiming at the domestic market, so Redflow are grasping straws aiming at a market they think they can survive, I hope they do well... | dlg3
09/4/2017 09:04 | Would you have one in your house??? | dlg3
09/4/2017 09:03 | grahamhacker have you looked at Redflow,s technology?? the Zinc Bromine battery produces gas which has to be dealt with.... | dlg3
09/4/2017 07:40 | I've just started my investment here. I love the fact that they've used some of the fund raise to finance commercialisation, a thing many small companies don't pay enough attention to. Link to Redflow in Adelaide (domestic flow batteries), I would think very much a competitor to RED, but very interesting working video on the technology from the Fully Charged series - always interesting.https:// | grahamhacker
08/4/2017 23:18 | Yes, storage is absolutely essential if we are to become more dependent upon intermittent power sources such as solar and wind. But if more resources were put into tidal power then we would have a totally predictable source of energy around the British coastline. (Note: Tidal power, not wave power). | vatnabrekk
08/4/2017 22:44 | The old energy order is drawing to a close as a battery storage revolution takes off, according to the Telegraph. Over the last two years, battery costs have fallen 40%, with further falls to come as economies of scale take hold. Rapid growth in the market for battery storage, forecast by Goldman Sachs to increase by a thousand-fold from $258m (£210m) last year to $258bn in 2025, should in turn remove a number of the key economic constraints on renewable forms of energy. Wind and solar are intermittent forms of energy, and hitherto have therefore required complementary back-up generation to ensure there is enough power in the grid at all times to service demand. The great promise of storage is that it should lend renewables the same “always on” characteristics of more conventional forms of power, allowing electricity to be drawn when the wind is blowing, and given out again when it is not. | dlg3
08/4/2017 22:38 | How big is uk market, solar is big enough. NG Control Room @NGControlRoom #solar generation just broke another record, exceeding 8 GW for the first time in British history! @ShefSolarF | dogrunner11
08/4/2017 22:36 | Local authorities have been told they need to develop energy storage strategies, or get left behind. Speaking at the Association for Public Sector Excellence’s (APSE) energy conference, Ray Noble said the price of energy storage systems will come down “faster than solar” and “every onshore wind and solar farm will have one in the future. They [councils] need to put in place the right strategy or work with government to produce the right networks to make certain it happens in their area,” he said. “Local authorities have got to recognise that this is going to happen. They need to be seen to be ahead of the game, and telling people in their area why they are doing this.” Noble said storage will change the face of the energy market beyond recognition. | dlg3
08/4/2017 22:36 | In the future every turbine could have its own storage.... | dlg3
07/4/2017 18:24 | take a gentle line from May 2015 and we are heading up. The problem probably is too many ramping posts making the stock swing wildly. Keep it sensible and follow the gentle rise to about 12p or so, at some point, yarn. Then perhaps 18p and 25p and so on etc over the years... Cheers Net | netcurtains
07/4/2017 12:07 | or is this a simple retrace to where it always should have/could have been prior to the deliberate manipulation forcing the drop at the time of the placing ? | pottermagic2310
07/4/2017 10:55 | Bloody auto correct so=sp. | chicken01
07/4/2017 10:55 | I may be wrong here...but before we had the placing the so fell day after day, quite a few noticed that someone out there knew there's a placing coming. So, converse to this, I notice the so gaming day after day with ( so far ) no news...unless of course someone knows that news is imminent....IMO. | chicken01
07/4/2017 07:47 | Good work DLG Noticed some saying official, must mean they are now able to quote for these third parties having expanded team. Our buyer role filled. | dogrunner11
07/4/2017 00:39 | Now where have I seen these photos before ??? | dlg3
07/4/2017 00:32 | The ambassador stressed the need to expand on and off grid access to energy to enhance business activities. “Expanding both on and off grid access to energy will not only help individuals and businesses, but will help overcome some of the obstacles to Nigeria being able to fulfill its full economic potential. “I met a number of people today whose lives have been profoundly changed by access to efficient and reliable energy. “And I am excited to see this ongoing partnership expand to ensure greater access to solar energy throughout Nigeria,” he said. NAN reports that to date, “Power Africa’’ | dlg3 |
