12/1/2017 08:41 | Google, one of the largest companies around the world, is also moving into renewable energy. In fact, it’s one of the leaders in the renewable energy sector, spending over $1 billion on its 1.7 megawatt solar facility on its Mountain View campus, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and renewable energy credits (RECs). Now Google is telling the utilities to get their acts together. Google’s message is this: If Google, a non-utility can invest so much time and effort in renewable energy, what more the utilities, which are focused on supplying energy? But Google did not just leave the utilities hanging, but proposed a solution: create a new type of tariff for customers who want to buy renewable energy. Google acknowledges that the tariffs are going to be costlier for now, but it is confident that companies will seek more stable, reliable renewable energy in the long term over fossil fuels. hxxp://www.energysto | dlg3

12/1/2017 08:33 | Let's hope that this innovative renewable power project is approved by the Government later today. Additional projects are envisaged. Good to see the UK at the forefront of new technology, (again). Perhaps it would make sense to market tidal power production with storage as a package, althogh it should be noted that I don't know enough yet about power flows etc from that type of generation. South Wales Evening Post 'Scores of companies' hoping for tidal lagoon project to get green light By SWEPnino | Posted: January 11, 2017 MORE than twenty industrial companies employing more than 40,000 people are urging the UK Government to back plans for the tidal lagoon in Swansea, according to the Wales Green Party. The claim comes as ministers in Westminster are expected to make a decision on Thursday, January 12, when a review of the plans will be published, which could pave the way for the fledgling tidal power industry. 12/1/2017 07:45 | Italian Utility Enel Acquires Energy Storage Specialist Demand Energy The renewable powerhouse will use Demand Energy’s expertise to get more out of its generation assets. by Julian Spector January 11, 2017 The year in energy storage started off with a bang as Italian utility Enel acquired a 100 percent stake in U.S.-based Demand Energy, a developer and operator of energy storage systems and software, for an undisclosed amount. Enel's renewables division operates 36 gigawatts of clean energy around the world. The North America subsidiary, which will control Demand Energy, has more than 100 plants spanning hydropower, wind, geothermal and solar energy, with a managed capacity of more than 2.8 gigawatts. That global portfolio now has become a ready and willing customer for Demand Energy's storage and energy management software, named DEN.OS, for Distributed Energy Network Optimization System. hxxps://www.greentec | dlg3

11/1/2017 15:59 | The content of the news is very important. It may be adequate and support a Marcap of £66mill. Good and get us to a £100mill or excellent and get us to £500mill.That's , in order ,11p , 17p or 85p.But , at the turnover of only £3mill for the whole year the adequate has to underpin £66million by being solid , successful implementation, and with forward orders. | alchemy
11/1/2017 15:56 | The Kauai Island Electric Cooperative and AES Corp. announced plans to pair a 28 MW solar array with a 20 MW, 100 MWh battery system to deliver dispatchable renewable generation to the Hawaiian island. KIUC will pay $0.11/kWh for power delivered from the solar-plus-storage system, according to a release, below the cost of oil-fired power that comprises the island's current baseload generation. The project is the second flexible solar facility for the small co-op. In 2015, KIUC signed a deal with SolarCity to pair a 13 MW solar array with a 52 MWh battery that will deliver power for $0.145/kWh. Not only are the costs of both solar-plus-storage facilities below the cost of fossil fuel to power the island, they often beat the cost of the fuel alone. According to co-op documents, KIUC has paid between $0.122/kWh and $0.18/kWh in just fuel and commodity costs since Dec. 2014, with Nov. 2016 costs coming in above $0.15/kWh. hxxp://www.utilitydi | dlg3
