15/5/2018 12:43 | I also think they would sell more if cars were refuelled as they are now, people understand putting fuel into the tank, people are also lazy and will forget to charge the vehicle, especially when the novelty wares off. What do you do when your car is low on fuel? you nip to the filling station 3 minutes and you are away or you plug in for 20 minutes with limited mileage..it is these things that stop me from purchasing a electric powered car....probably many more too.. | dlg3
15/5/2018 12:33 | I like electric cars, but would prefer more flexibility with refuelling... | dlg3
15/5/2018 12:29 | so the leaf does around 220 miles range on a full charge,80% is 176 miles and 0nly draining it to within 50% 110 miles. Or you get a flow battery car that gives you 180 miles and you get 180 miles because you can drain it 100% without any problems. not forgetting that the range of the Leaf will be during the day in summer without any electrical equipment running.... Radio heating wipers lights.. So I would bet that on a winters day with the heater on full, the radio playing with the headlights on and the wipers going you could half that range, meaning ideally you need to charge every 55 miles. | dlg3
15/5/2018 12:22 | the same goes for storage.. "Similarly, it’s wise to avoid heavily draining the battery. For example, it’s better for the battery to operate between 80% and 50% charge, rather than starting at 100%, draining to 20% and then fully recharging. Essentially, the battery in an electric car will last longer if you avoid regularly draining lots of its power in one go." | dlg3
15/5/2018 12:20 | There are four main factors to consider in caring for the battery in an electric car: - Overheating - Overcharging or high voltage - Deep discharge - High discharge or charge current Heat, either as high ambient temperature but more likely as heat generated by charging or keeping the battery at high-voltage (fully charged), reduces the capacity of a lithium battery. Overcharging can cause the battery to overheat, but it’s also harmful because of the chemical changes it provokes inside the battery. The more time the battery spends fully charged, the quicker internal resistance builds up inside it – if this resistance reaches a critical level over time, the battery becomes useless. Similarly, it’s wise to avoid heavily draining the battery. For example, it’s better for the battery to operate between 80% and 50% charge, rather than starting at 100%, draining to 20% and then fully recharging. Essentially, the battery in an electric car will last longer if you avoid regularly draining lots of its power in one go. | dlg3
15/5/2018 12:19 | Alchemy already does work.... what would you prefer 20 minutes recharging a battery or a car that takes 3 or 4 minutes to change the electrolyte. The replacement cost of a Nissan Leaf battery is £5,000 | dlg3
15/5/2018 10:10 | I have Redt pencilled in for storage, and lithium and then high capacitor nanene for motors . I suggested flow for cars but an informed poster reasoned that won't work. | alchemy
15/5/2018 08:51 | dlg, Owenski is on record as having bought in here. And he welcomes the price rise. To be honest I welcome contrary viewpoints, as someone who is quite heavily invested here. Last thing we need is a pump and dump effect. | brucie5
15/5/2018 08:46 | Owenski funny that is what I thought about your good self, we all know lithium is the dominant tech at the moment that is largely due to a certain PR team that manufactures cars and battery storage, but things are about to change, you would not be here posting if this company did not interest you.. | dlg3
15/5/2018 08:43 | I think we could all be a bit more collegiate on this Vanadium Lithium topic.Redt is the main focus here so generally electric storage is also by definition of interest . Lithium is used for that and even our company is going to work alongside lithium in "hybrid" mode. We have been tutored by Scott about power versus energy. Rate versus absolute. Duration versus peak. We believe Vanadium has clear features advantages and benefits in this regard.Scott is not a showman , he is not generically going for first mover advantage but the force of reference. This is contrast to other businessmen in the storage area. But vehicle propulsion is not what we're about. | alchemy
15/5/2018 08:39 | Alchemy 15 May '18 - 08:25 - 6136 of 6137 0 0 0 3 Month high, Brucie you’re onto something! ? -------------------- Chart playing out, but who knows. VLS come a bit unstuck this morning with an unfortunate RNS just shows there are lots of kinks in the potential chain. But yes, I remain excited here. | brucie5
15/5/2018 08:37 | Tonsil's post referred to Tesla as a company and specifically it's cars, he didn't mention lithium. Why he posted that when it's irrelevant as such to this thread is odd. However to suggest that anyone who mentions some reference to lithium is working for Tesla is just silly. Trouble with you dig is you're not objective, your need to post multiple times in a row every time someone says anything not 100% Red centric just shows how emotional you've become towards this company. Meantime, good to see the price rise. | owenski

15/5/2018 06:45 | Why has this apparedntly become a Telsa blog? Can we please keep to RedT only. I don't give a toss about Telsa, and don't want to read about it. | murdo mcsponge
14/5/2018 21:59 | Just bought some Tesla. EM sleeping at the plant making rapid decisions to fix throughout and now over 2500 Model 3 per week are being made. Break even approaches! | tonsil
