13/5/2018 16:20 | The company had originally promised it would be making 5,000 Model 3's every week by the end of last year, but delivered only 222 in the third quarter, and another 1,542 throughout the entire fourth quarter. It has now pushed the 5,000 a week target back to the end of June. Tesla has never made a full-year profit as its grown into a major force in the auto industry. But investors, lenders and customers have been big believers in its charismatic CEO Elon Musk, at least to this point. They've provided him with the cash he needed to challenge the established players in the industry. | dlg3

13/5/2018 16:18 | Time is running out for Tesla's unmet promises. The leading electric car maker's struggles to ramp up production of its first mass-market car, the Model 3, could mean a cash crunch for the upstart automaker. Tesla (TSLA) has thousands of customers lined up ready to buy a Model 3, which has a $35,000 starting price. But it keeps badly missing its production targets, and it is burning through cash as it does so. And it faces deadlines to pay more than $1 billion in bonds due over the the next year - $230 million due in November and $920 million next March. Powered by SmartAsset.com SMARTASSET.COM Concerns about its cash positions could grow worse when it reports actual first quarter numbers next week. Moody's downgraded its debt deeper into junk bond status on Tuesday and warned more downgrades could be coming. Standard & Poor's also has warned of the possibility of a downgrade. | dlg3

13/5/2018 10:55 | Always good to have Owenski's cautionary postings. Truth is, we can share common information and draw different conclusions about likely future outcomes. In the end, a good investment needs in some way, or to some extent, to see something that the market does not - yet. That, for me, is the case here. Owenski is simply reflecting back the market's doubt. I can live with that, because I have to. Otherwise there would be no good investment case. | brucie5

13/5/2018 09:39 | "While the Hornsdale Power Reserve battery currently holds the title of the world’s largest, Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently hinted at an even larger project set to be announced soon." Tesla have large project capability proven, RED does not. Lithium is still an entrenched known technology whereas VFM is not. RED still have an uphill battle and SM has repeatedly stated the word 'Slow' when in comes to RED's business. The current energy storage environment is very favourable to RED, but it is also favourable to others. 6 to 7p maybe worth a punt on RED if one has patience, but I suspect it's going to be a long wait still, with more funds to be raised at future points. imo | owenski
13/5/2018 07:58 | Meanwhile....The Department of Energy in the US,is investing in various energy generation projects and is not giving any special treatment to renewables as the preferred direction for investments. This is not bad, however. The renewables industry itself has a way to go towards making its products more attractive for users by combining their generation installation with energy storage. One company is already doing it. That’s Lightsource, Europe’s largest solar power developer, which recently told Greentech Media that from now on, it will only offer to build solar installations compete with energy storage—the so-called hybrid installations. Common sense suggests this is what all solar and wind developers should be doing with or without the financial support of the Department of Energy. Deploying more energy storage might also provide further motivation for researchers to get all these new batteries we hear about almost every week out of the lab more quickly. hxxps://oilprice.com | jimflint
12/5/2018 22:30 | The results will not be "breaking", they might help the "making" I think not. What will matter in my oh so humble opinion is the forward looking statements. Bad losses for some , might signal the cost of brilliant investment for others. As long as cash gives the ability to cover revenue earning despatches over the next few months and those despatches have a contribution attached...'In other words murdo, think you might be too focussed on one figure. It won't be a good figure, but it might be ok set in context. | alchemy
12/5/2018 20:35 | My pleasure John. To state the obvious perhaps, I think the upcoming results are make or break for the share price and the Company. I guess what they have would be worth something to someone as a buyout - i.e. to salvage something if the results are poor. A buyout is probably the long term outlook for RedT anyway, but hopefully at a lot higher price than the present perice. I am reasonably sanguine about the results. I was encouraged by the small funding - PROVIDING (!!!) the report that it was over subscribed is true. If it was porkies, I would worry. Just MHO. We'll know soon enough. It's the waiting that still gets to me, and that's after circa 55 years buying and selling stocks. Fingers crossed! Murdo | murdo mcsponge

11/5/2018 18:30 | broshm, I think we are all subject to confirmation bias, and the results shortly could send this down again, of course. But having spent a lot of time investigating these, and over several years, following the share price, I'm confident at 6p was the bottom. It certainly now looks like one. Thereafter, moving averages count when looking at where to buy and where to get off. Of course we need a positive update, but a move past the 200, on the back of any such positivity, particularly, should it confirm what Scott has been saying about those mega orders, could send it significantly higher. I would be looking for the levels of 12, 16, and 22p this year. | brucie5
