slicethepie, I couldn't agree more. One of them must go, my choice would be SW as he's the bigger liar.

I wonder which one of the hapless duo will jump or get pushed first, their joint position is untenable given their results and how much lifestyle fees they take

Wonderful news our two boys holding even more shares. Excellent example of loyalty and open commitment to shareholders. I honestly feel we should get together and nominate them BOTH for Knighthoods.

We have to move away from fossil fuels because as the less developed countries demand their fair share oil/gas will become evermore expensive and resources depleted. That should be the motivation for renewables not some fancy dogma on saving the planet.

Simon

It's true that WN seemed a good opportunity a few years ago,but the oil and gas business has changed a lot since then.

I think this is why the majors are moving out of the north sea.The tax problem was introduced by the conservatives, and I doubt it will change much with any party after the election - I don't trust any of them.

I think any reasonable BOD would consider some sort of different strategy at the moment.

aspect our foray into the US has turned into an unmitigated disaster all thanks to Kamran Sattar.

Hopefully the labour government will start to see a bit of sense once they are in.

West Newton will be sold off once production levels are established.

Parta has excellent prospects and grants and E.U funding available, but the operator A.D.X is putting all their resources into their Austrian prospects at the moment.

Colle Santo should hopefully come to fruition.

With this tax problem,RBD are like ENQ,UJO,and the other oil outfits in the UK.

I bought this last week because they may be a possibility they will get out of the UK altogether - something like UJO is doing in the US - lower tax,and easier regulations.

West Newton is going nowhere for years, and like a poster just said, they have messed about for years, and I doubt it will ever make a profit for RBD in the next five years.

They had $32 mln that could have been used for something else than buy backs, and trying to get WN into an operative field - it's not going to work.

What is WN worth? They should sell it if it's possible, and go somewhere else.

The Italian Job seems alright - what about some more assets in the US.

All my buys yesterday, and today, went through as sells.

Buried at the foot of today's releasee:

The JV is fully funded for re-entry and recompletion and operational activity is anticipated to commence during 2024. Further updates will be provided in due course

edit: "releasee" = fat finger, LOL

How long as this west Newton charade gone on for ?I reckon they have messed around for 10 years talking about drilling it ? But I guess the longer it's drawn out, the longer they can pay themselves. I bet it never sees the light of day

I thought it was no new granting of licenses. Anyway isn't WN just continuation of an existing project. I don't see why that would be affected. It'll probably take Starmer 10 minutes in No 10 to realise he's dealing in fantasies.
