The Ukrainian president says his forces are making an "organised" withdrawal from the embattled town of Debaltseve.

Petro Poroshenko said 80% of Ukraine's troops left on Wednesday morning after several days of fierce fighting.

The leaders of Russia, Germany and Ukraine have agreed on "concrete measures" to allow Organisation from Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) observers to monitor the shaky ceasefire in Ukraine, Berlin announced.
A German government spokesman announced the measures on Tuesday morning after German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko held a conference call.

However, both sides say while the fighting has subsided, it has not stopped completely, and shelling can be heard around the besieged town of Debaltseve.

An agreement aimed at ending the fighting in Ukraine has been reached, following marathon talks in Belarus.

The leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France announced that a ceasefire would begin on 15 February.

The deal also includes weapon withdrawals and prisoner exchanges, but key issues remain to be settled.

The pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine have signed the agreement. Thousands of people have died in almost a year of fighting in the region.

I rather suspect the next company update will see the share price see those sub 20p levels once again, Russia is now entering what looks like a very deep not to mention long and protracted recession.

With Putin sitting on 64% of the vote and set to be sitting in office till 2018, the political landscape wont be changing that seems for sure !

The rouble exchange rate is almost entirely dependent on the oil price as the Russian Government needs Urals oil to trade at 3,600 roubles/bbl in order to balance it's budget. As soon as the price of oil starts to rise then will the rouble exchange rate will rise against the dollar.

As a potential investor I'm looking for a share price more around the 30p level as during the last financial crash Raven fell sub 20p.

A new low every other day here for the share price.

Meanwhile currency weakening continues rising above 65 roubles to the dollar.

The last update talked about significant problems for some tenants at 50 to the dollar, however its looking increasing like above 65 roubles to the dollar is the new norm !

Must be an unpleasant place to be renegotiating rent roles, a speedy update as to how bad it is getting from Raven is needed.

I have been watching this one close. Not sure about buying in as no idea what sanctions the russians will retort back with if the US imposes further sanctions. Could the US companies which rent warehouse space have a detrimental impact or would any russian company immediately rent floor space vacated by a US company??

Rus does not pay a dividend. It makes buy backs.
It is the pref that pays a divi(in fixed £)

The main risks are their usd dominated leases, short term the rents will be paid pegged to the usd, but as anyone with a foreign exchange mortgage knows, 50% extra is a big large expense to handle. Hence why the fall in share price is reasonable. Not a good plan to buy your own shares at 80 p.

Can't agree Starship. The significant trend was broken in Feb 14


There is perhaps more need to differentiate between Rus, with its buybacks rather than divs as in the past being fairly meaningless while the price keeps falling, and Rusp with its almost bond like features .

I presume buy backs on the ordinaries must cease before the pref divs are held back(ie the cash to distribute "to shareholder" is calculated after pref divs are accounted for . Any reason why the latter assumptions are wrong would be appreciated.

I must say I do have to agree with you over RUS & RUSP - looks like a train crash in the making. RUS carved out a large Head & Shoulders, fell through the uptrend - next stop 40p:

Hopefully I'm wrong; but this certainly has to be classified a High Risk play!

Invesco hold a significant chunk of these/prefs so pretty exposed. Woodford been buying Ords as well I recall in sizeable amounts...

Tempted to get back in myself tbh "Ords" side at current levels,despite the ongoing disquiet over Russia..
