Problem is there is a tide of negative emotion and everybody is getting their feet wet. Logic simply does not come into it.

Panic in the markets. It's getting serious when even fixed interest is being sold off. Somewhat surprising because Cov-19 must lead to lower interest rates; as already reflected in US 10 year Treasuries being at a historic all time low of roughly 1.3%.

@kickingking
Yes, you are correct. Just tried it.
Always been put off because the system gives an error message - " no security found" or similar. As it seems to with other Pref shares.

You should be able to trade with ii . When your on site put the code in the box for quotes. Don't worry about down box because it won't be there. Press for quote the price will appear. From there you see order to buy.

I suspect that once Woodford are taken out there will be a steady drip of shares from the buyers who get those at (what I expect will be ) a nice discount.
Will be a nice opportunity to add.

The company must be reading this board (see my posts 356 & 357 above) because late today they put out this announcement:

Does not give us details but if they are stating "shareholder circulars are being prepared", they presumably have financing in place or a good plan to achieve it.

Do not underestimate how transformative this deal will be in terms of security of the coupon on RAVP. In my opinion, it will put RAVP on a par with other UK quoted preference shares: in terms of certainty of payment of the coupon. The ordinaries should also increase in value providing an even greater cushion for the pref's.

The likely increase in the share price of RAVP, which I expect once the buy-in details are fully appreciated, will likely attract some selling. However, anyone selling their fixed income securities, to realise a short term gain, better be very certain of the logic of their reasons for selling because lower for longer interest rates are now baked in for the foreseeable future.

Nothing in any of my posts should be construed as investment advice. Also, any fixed income investment should only be purchased if the capital invested is not required for a medium term of at least 5 years, if not longer.

Well, VSL, specialist lender ~9.75% yield could do with a nudge.

& NCYF needs a small help.

Further to my post above, I note the two chunky purchases today, probably by the same party, and wonder if someone knows some news is coming.

It is sickening that we private investors are the last to know and meanwhile those in the know, are repeatedly acting on inside information with impunity.

Nerja - this is the first time in my 5 plus years of holding RAVP that the price has not dropped on ex-div date. Your plan was correct, just kyboshed by unusual circumstances.

I do not know why this strange movement in the share price occurred. I suspect it might be because the company is close to making an announcement about financing the Invesco buy-in but I could easily be proved wrong.
