Last year the Pru held over 10% of Rank and sold their holding down to 5.15% earlier in the year and have now reduced by a further 2.3 million shares.

As I've posted a number of times previously what ever happened to the 12.5% BT/Hermes held and the majority of the Pru's as I haven't noticed any really big Buys when BT was selling 2 million shares at a time??? Some one must have pick them up??? The question being WHO???

"On 8 November 2010, The Rank Group Plc ("Rank") received notification from M&G Investment Management Limited on behalf of the Prudential plc group of companies that, as at 4 November 2010, Prudential plc and certain of its subsidiary companies had a notifiable interest in 17,816,710 ordinary 13 8/9p shares representing 4.56% of the total voting rights in Rank.

Nice ah? Making highe highs and higher lows again here and bouncing off the trend - 150p looks a reasonable short term target imo.

I see Guoco are paying a divi tomorrow.
A phoenix-like company.
Formerly Brierley Investments.
Odd thing is that the Italian for gaming
is usually 'gioco' or 'giuoco'.
Perhaps they are better with numbers than with
words. Didn't realise until I saw the
heading that they are part owners of RNK.

It was a good buy by the Directors a few months back they bought in at 100p. Wish I had followed suit!!!

09:27GMT 07Oct2010-Rank Group firmer after update

Shares in Rank Group gain 3.5 percent after the gaming firm says it expects its full-year performance to be around the top end of analysts' forecasts after all of its businesses improved during the third quarter.

Investec Securities lifts its target price for Rank to 156 pence from 137 pence, while repeating its 'buy' rating on the stock.

The broker says in a note that the consumer environment has been relatively benign for Rank so far during 2010 and it recognises this may not continue.

'However, we believe that Rank has positioned each of its key divisions well to weather any consumer downturn, with much greater operational flexibility, management information and a tail-wind of product improvements and investment,' it says.

Panmure Gordon, meanwhile, hikes its target price to 173 pence from 145 pence, and strongly reiterates its 'buy' recommendation on the stock.
