I'm in. I'd liked to have a little more time to research but and have more clarification on the resource and the price they'll get for the oxides, but I didn't want to the price to get away from me. Only a small initial stake, I may add more as more information comes to light.

I'm in for a small stake this morning for 12.1875p, well below the listed 12.6p on Hargreaves Lansdowne for some reason... GLA, here's hoping Shares do an update tonight

Cheers Hazl and likewise ! I see rare earths slightly differently from basic metals - in the sense that they address a different end of the market - the high tech end.

High tech is here to stay and growing rapidly. China controls the vast majority of the rare earth market currently - could they choose to control the export of the same if there is a spat in the South China Sea with the USA ? They have had form in the past - which will make our output more valuable. The easily accessible, high grade ore also insulates against marginal producers with high costs.

So even the economy takes a downturn, I feel that high tech / consumer product market segment will remain resilient. Technology has become a consumption staple for vast swathes of populations and they can't do without.

In terms of the RBW stock market listing, early days yet - but reassured by proven mining and commercialisation expertise from Pouroulis and significant stake as well.

Good luck all :)

Yeah, thanks for reminding me of this SHARES tip on other board hazl. Should have looked earlier. Didn't buy this morning at 12.33p or thereabouts because I had to go out & wanted to read up more bit more. Kicking the tyres, all looks great, still cheap, great quality, simple, already-proven and low-tech but worried about the possibility the Chinese could flood the market with their RE reserves and sink such a little mine as this - especially as it only has enough cash to keep it going for 12 months!

Also, long-term, I'm no materials scientist but: hxxp://gizmodo.com/a-little-lead-can-make-graphene-magnetic-1671641756

and Wikipedia says: "The uncertainty of pricing and availability have caused particularly Japanese companies to develop permanent magnets and associated electric motors with fewer or no rare earth elements"

Also, why haven't they been able to raise such a relatively small amount of money privately, if this is such a sure thing? (Though hopefully it's because Pouroulis wants to make a bomb from his shares).

Adonis Pouroulis set up Petra in 1996, helping it grow from a junior explorer worth less than £10million to its current £905million.

LETS HOPE FOR MORE OF THE SAME

We will be at the mercy of the economy and basic materials prices naturally but good time to pick up these things when prices are still low.
Good to see you here Multibagger and Saucepan.

Adonis must have made a packet there. He's no doubt here to make a packet too. I'd be interested to know his success ratio. Most of the time with these types they never lose their own money, just someone else's. When it goes the right way they make a wad, when it goes the wrong way they lose sod all or very little.

Non- controlling interest represents the amounts attributable to the 10% interest of the State of Burundi has in Rainbow mining Burundi SM and 3% interest Gilbert Midende has in RBW SPRL shows good support perhaps?

Hi Dingo

Thanks for the reply. Going forward perhaps the numbers will be multiple, but I am interested in initial profitability on the first 5000 tonnes (sold at circa $10k/tonne). I wondered how you got numbers higher than $50,000,000 ($10k/tonne for first 5000 tonnes)?

Cheers
